  1. Phil. The springs should fit any of the caterham bilsteins except the VX race which reqire 2.25" ID springs. As to spring rates suitabilty this is subjective, you will have to put your faith in Freestyle. IMO the kit will give a firm ride with little body roll suited to track use and grippy tyres. Rob
  2. Gary May of Freestyle keeps the spring rates a closely guarded secret. Sorry if I tell everyone will just buy their spring direct. I am sure you understand.
  3. Danny I cannot supply a photo, the kit comprises four springs not hard to picture what they look like. The front are black in colour the rears yellow. Front springs are 8.75" L X 1.9" ID the rears 11.25" X 1.9" ID. the ali spacers 2.5" in length. All are new. Rob Edited by - Rob Walker on 15 Feb 2006 14:19:52

  6. Griff the duratec induction is on the other side of the car to the K.
  7. I use a well used nylock to pull the taper home then remove and fit the new one.
  8. David W. I must put you right. The on track monitoring is not done ad hoc and with the same noise meter as the static. There is a fixed transducer on the pit wall and results are recorded and sent to the local council. After recently loosing their license to run F3 they have to take the noise emissions seriously. rob
  9. Dave 21P, Sorry to say you are talking out of your cake hole as you put . The on track monitoring at Donnington is on the pit wall at the start of the pit lane and the Duratec has its exhaust on the drivers side or off side therefore pointing away from the sensor. However the induction is pointing right at it. Combe also has its monitoring on the pit wall after Camp corner. Be interesting to see if we have a problem at Donnington, its likely that revs would be fairly low entering the pit straight and at the point of monitoring so we may get away with it. Rob
  10. I must confess I am puzzled why these Duratec engines produce a lot less noise than other engines? It makes no sense the valves are bigger as are the ports ,inlet track is longer the Throttle bodies are 45mm. bigger than the K at 42 mm and with the same 90mm trumpets on the end and a foam filter it should make more noise. The only factor different is that there is no need to rev the engine as high to develop the same power .
  11. IIRC 7"x 21 front and 8.2" x 22 rear made by AVON. I run these on trackdays on 6.5" F 8.5" R wheels. Very hard to find now SH as they are no longer the control tyre for the R400 series.
  12. We ran a 280 bhp Duratec all day at Castle Combe on Saturday and had no problems with either the static noise test or on track monitoring. The day had a 100db limit. This is great news for anyone contemplating a duratec transplant. The car runs wide open induction through the bonnet and a large 7" Side exit silencer. Several of the grads cars failed the noise tests. I was surprised I had expected the car to fail on drive bye induction noise. Minister were also present testing a C400 duratec which I think was also ok on noise.
  13. Simon uses his car every day and in all weather.

  15. IIRC I had to shorten the threaded rod on a 2005 chassis

  17. Ian Sorry as I posted above I am not the seller and am not interested in getting involved in posting tyres. Rob
  18. Simon, I think you should advise potential buyers that the tank has three threaded boss inputs into the side of the tank on the top section in addition to the two top breathers. The standard tank has only one. The tank also has a base plate attached. Rob
  19. Ian Approx 6mm, I don`t want to post them could bring to Llandow on 25th March.
