  1. If you have used Sikaflex to bond your wings on, you can remove them by cutting the sikaflex witha craft knife. Mickrick the only failure that I have seen when Sikaflex has been used to bond wings on is were the powder coating on the wingstays has been left on and corrsion has got behind the coating and the adhesive. I always remove the powder coating and degrease before bonding and have never had a problem.
  2. Hi Tim Yes its the complete kit , I have sent you blatmail. Rob
  3. It seems that there are several I `ve a set of 2 degree ears in the garage, I had 1.5 on my old car and have .25 on my current car.
  4. Rob, I think that you have to consider that the same engine mounts are used for both the 2& 2.3L and the 2.3 is circa 13mm taller but the engine mounts are well down the block so the extra height is above the mounts. There is of course some ground clearance to be had if you pick the right DS system, the titan one offering the least gain and Racelines new system in theory offering the most. " when Peter ever gets it into production". I have the Raceline wet sump on my car along with the Raceline engine mounts, I have also installed 8mm of spacer washers on top of the side rail engine mounts to lift the engine up off the deck allowing the rest of the car to be lowered as much as is possible. Rob
  5. Brent, What I found interesting when building the last car was that the Raceline bell housing did not align with two of the blind thread holes in their wet sump pan ????? Now this surprised me as the Titan bellhousing that I have previously used on all the other cars that I have built aligned with all 4 of the holes in the Raceline sump pan. One would have thought that their own pan would have aligned with all 4 holes I wouldn`t worry too much about the fixings into the sump pan. If you had selected the Pace DS pan you would have had no fixings into the pan what so ever. Rob
  6. Dave, I recon Brent is trying his best to make his car as heavy as possible. As we have found out on our own cars the dry sump is simply not a necessity on a Duratec with the raceline sump fitted.
  7. Says its for the live axle, no good if you have a de dion
  8. Adrian, Your in luck I have two sets of secondhand double valve springs for the K which are low milage and came out of my hot K with less than 3000 miles on each set used with an 8300rpm rev limit , You can have either set for £50 or I have a brand new set that you can have for £120 plus postage. Rob
  9. BTTT still for sale come on you Duratecers
  10. Help please, I need the complete set of timing belt covers for a 1.6/1.8k series. Rob
  11. The distortion that you have noticed is normal. The exhaust gasket for the k is quite thick and can accomadate the uneven surface. you could always fettle the sufaces with a file or bend them flat with the protruding lugs held in a vice. I have to agree its not what you expect from a new product.
  12. Angus, Sorry my info is now out of date. I have just received an Email from Mick Attree telling that Caterham use m10 bolts going from the gearbox into the bellhousing. This is how all the Duratecs are now fitted. Hope that helps. Rob
  13. Sounds like you have a Titan Bellhousing and you will have to drill out / enlarge the M10 holes to 12mm clearance size to fit to the six speed box as it mounts using through bolt fixings. The M10 tapped holes are for the rally car installations to allow the gearbox to be changed without removing the bellhousing. Rob
  14. I have come across this problem on several cars. Basically caterham had a batch of discs made that were too big on OD and when they gEt hot and expand they rub on the caliper. If you have less than .060" clearance beteween the outer edge of the disc and your caliper it will foul when it get s hot. The only solution is either have the discs turned down or replace the discs sorry.
  15. For sale Titan concentric clutch slave cylinder with clutch release bearing and selection of spacers and spare seals. This unit is ideal for the Duratec install or could be used with a VX or K series. The slave cylinder has only been used in a trail installation, the CRB,seals are unused. I am looking for £75 for the lot, buyer pays postage. tel 0117 9239941 and 07963 834138 Rob
  16. Alex, The link for fergus does`t work. My mate Tony thorp is interested in the diff and the gear box if you could forward his phone numbers to Fergus please 01934 516208 and 0786 6383203. Rob
  17. Both of the driveshafts CV joints are spring pre-loaded and can accomadate a variation in length of 20mm
  18. There should be no issues with fitting the latest tube I have one on my car. Its stronger/thicker gauge steel with gusseted damper mounts, 10mm wider and runs without any toe in. your old tube will have 20 minutes toe in. So you should go faster with less tyre scrub 😬 Only downside is its heavier
  19. Adam I have the Mog half doors installed with the safety devices SLR cage. What do you want to know? Rob
