  1. Covered inside car , very difficult to cover tunnel from underside also I was not sure about the insulation catching fire near the primaries.
  2. The 320D is still a turbo blower and sadly turbo failures are still common. letting the turbo cool for a minute after heavy use cannot do any harm. IMO changing the oil & filter every 5000 miles also helps.
  3. Nose cone vent a la R500, transmission tunnel & peddle box lined with insulation and primaries lagged works for me in temps up to 38C. The insulation that I use on the tunnel and peddle boxis available from Wicks its the shiny foil faced bubble wrap stuff that you use behind radiators £10 for 10M. In cool weather I remove it as I have no heater. Rob
  4. Ian, Go for the latest Emerald K6 it has data logging and barometric pressure compensation all built in, great bit of kit. Rob
  5. Hi Nick, I have a pair of cloned Tillets which look identical to the caterham ones except for the bit of carpet stuck on and there are no badges. Would you except the seats plus cash adjustment? Rob tel 01275 371255

  11. Martin Krecek has his CSR for sale and is looking for £22,500.00 for it. It is a CSR 260 race car that has been fitted with all the necessary stuff for road use ie, lights , cat, it is in an attractive dark blue. Any interest the car will be with me here in Bristol this weekend or call on 0117 9239941 or 07963 834138. Rob
  12. The crank position sensor should be aligned with the engine at TDC cylinder number 1. Ford supply a small plastic alignment jig with the sensor that sits over the toothed crankshaft pulley , the jig holds the sensor in the correct position whilst you nip up the two fixing screws. The throttle pot should be positioned so as to allow full movement of the throttle body spindle, then follow the set up proceedure with the ECU.
  13. As a rule of thumb 0.001" per inch of bore is good quide line.
  14. Sounds like both cars had air trapped in the system. If the cooling systems are correctly bled parking on a hill should not be a problem. Its worth checking that the one way ball valve at the front end of the plenum is operating and not stuck. If you squeeze a hose you should be able to hear the ball tapping as it moves on and off its seat. Rob
  15. Steve The ATB is not a true LSD and requires some torque appied to both wheels to function. I have had a ZF diff fitted to my car for years and do not find that it is any more of a problem to live with than an open diff. The main problem that I have is noise from the diff when it gets hot and this is due to the serria diff casing being made from aluminium and the crown wheel and pinion made out of steel( a different coefficient of expansion). When the whole lot gets hot the diff casing expands and the mesh between the gears changes also the oil gets thinner and the noise increases. Now this applies to any diff in the caterham install be it an LSD or open diff. BTW I understand the Titan LSD is a plate diff and operates the same as the ZF, CC now install the Titan as the ZF is no longer available. I would fit the Titan Diff or TranX If I were shopping. 16. Bob Stark I have found exactly the opposite. In the wet I find that I have a lot more grip in that the LSdiff locks and keeps the power delivery to both driven wheels. As oversteer increases its then easier to keep control of the car by steering into the slide and the carefull control of the throttle. In the dry its much the same but at higher speeds. Rob
  17. Yes the full windscreen can be fitted with the SLR cage. There is a problem if you also want to fit the full doors, I have seen small brackets fixed to the cage to hang the door off.
  18. TADTS . Small bits of road chippings get between the tube abd the inner face of the rim. Also earlier tubes had more clearance in this area Rob
  19. CC triple pass rads are cr1p I had several fail in six months . The side tanks hang off the core unsupported. The Radtec product is far superiour
