    CSR Oil level

On mine I changed oil, went for blat (reasonably spirited) checked catch tank, no oil, added 250ml quick blat (reasonably spirited) if oil in catch tank leave car overnight, if not repeat until there is, in morning used new long dipstick and marked oil level by filing a small notch, I can now do a quick check on cold engine for reassurance, but still bung 250ml or so of oil in every 500 miles depending on driving style and amount being chucked into catch tank, you will soon get a feel for how much oil you and your car use. 4. Re removable steering wheel, I bought a half decent security cable (coil type which can be left coiled around roll bar) and padlock, if going shopping etc just remove and cable (pretty much out of site behind driver seat) to roll bar, ok a decent set of cutters would get through it eventual but hopefully someone would notice if parked fairly publicly . Bump Steer on CSR

Happy to take some pics of road csr 200 tomorrow PM if it would help, can take nosecone off but would probably leave cowl and radiator in place 😬, let me know I have a pic here which seems to show my track rod attached to a different point to yours maybe that's the problem Tim CSR 200 Aztec and Black

    Bump Steer on CSR

Se7en hi, Just had a quick gander at my CSR 200, Track rod is central in side skin hole and very close to parallel with lower wishbone and garage floor, can take a couple of pictures later today if that helps, CR500s on standard wheels, ride height at sump is around 70mm. let me know if I can measure anything else to help Tim CSR 200 Aztec and Black
  9. I think there is some question over the lead content of flat yellows, Halfrauds may be able to mix off site but you might need to push the manager, spotty yooff may not know what to do good luck CSR 200 Aztec and Black

  11. If you have a spare battery to hand and a set of jump leads, bung it in parallel with existing battery, then try starting, the extra current available should reduce voltage drop at immobiliser may prove (or disprove ) theory Tim CSR 200 Aztec and Black
  12. even if you did need a de misting device, you could take it in without the hood, that should de-mist nicely 😬 Tim CSR 200 Aztec and Black
  13. I guess you are away now but you haven't mentioned lights, I guess that you get nowt when you turn it on, no lights, no door solenoid, etc, have you tried checking any screw down connectors on the mains lead , remove plug from mains and check screws are tight, then follow through to and into machine checking connections, AC will cause screws to undo eventualy, if you normally get a light when you switch the machine on and now you dont you can be pretty sure fault lies in wiring before switch or the switch itself, If you dont have a meter a PP9 battery, 2 lenths of wire and a bulb can make an emergency continuity tester for wiring and switches CSR 200 Aztec and Black
  14. John if using meter to check fuse, when you set to ohms touch the probes together first to make sure meter reads zero before you test fuse, will eliminate flat battery in meter Tim CSR 200 Aztec and Black

  18. interesting, thought I remembered a similar description here Doug also had similar noise. well done for getting it out btw I wonder if it comes out of a CSR any easier ☹️ 😬 Tim CSR 200 Aztec and Black
  19. the reason I ask is that there is an internal battery (you probably know all this) Stack suggest its life is 3-4 years (although BC wisdom is nobody has as yet had one fail), mine displays an intermittent "internal battery low" message. I have a gut feeling the contacts have corroded due to moisture inside unit. As for removal I haven't looked yet so when you succeed, an idiots guide would be great, save me some time investigating 😬 Tim CSR 200 Aztec and Black Edited by - tbird on 10 Oct 2010 17:15:11
  20. before it failed you didn't notice the red ignition light flickering or a message reporting internal battery error , how old is it btw Tim CSR 200 Aztec and Black
  21. are the two fasteners in such a position that you could swap for Tenax, and still be symmetrical, imho a nicer fastener and easier to fit, other than that if you have a hood maker/car trimmer near you they might punch the holes for you either FOC or for a small fee, still cheaper than buying a punch, more risky strategy, make a hole cutter from an old piece steel tube (or buy something like this) and cut slits with sharpened screwdriver Tim CSR 200 Aztec and Black
