  1. Ahmed Hi image of round headlights masked correctly http://i716.photobucket.com/albums/ww161/Peaceand/Basil/France/R0012922.jpg you will see a marked area in glass that needs covered Tim
  2. the output voltage from the alternater is right when the engine is running. sorry if this is sucking eggs/cheeky when you say output voltage is correct is it around 14.2Vdc around 2K RPM Tim
  3. when you checked voltage did you check across the bulb or between live side and a known good earth, Tim
  4. Does that not indicate a blown rectifier in the Alternator ? Tim
  5. wd40 will also do at a pinch and probably easier to get then switch cleaner, also make sure hazard switch is pressed "firmly" 😬 from On to OFF Tim Edited by - tbird on 24 Jul 2011 17:35:12
  6. what voltages do you have at the switch Tim
  7. With my proximity type fob if I turn of ignition (aerial round switch barrel), and remove keys the mobiliser arms with seconds, so by the time I am out of the car, sorted out gloves and wheel etc its armed, then just remove FIA cutoff, when starting car put in cutoff turn on and immobiliser is still armed, when I first got the car I thought the Immobiliser was disarmed when I switched cutoff to on, but after some tests, ie keeping proximity fob well away from ignition I realise I was mistaken, almost seems like the aerial for immobiliser was super sensitive for a couple of seconds after cutoff was powered on . Tim
  8. there you go http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6133/5969295065_4451ccb1b0_b.jpg Hows the holiday going Tim Edited by - tbird on 24 Jul 2011 12:00:24 Edited by - tbird on 24 Jul 2011 12:06:37
  9. Stu which immobiliser do you have, proximity or plipper/fob Tim
  10. Arguably more protection a Thief would need to have a key or bypass switch and then the immobiliser, and then have a steering wheel if thats also removeable. Thanks for invite I think its unlikely for 27th, no worries that you have child care commitments, Plenty of time in the future, CSR up in Skye at the moment anyway so it would be in Landy or TinTop, Tim Edited by - tbird on 23 Jul 2011 22:23:18
  11. The immobiliser that is being currently fitted seems to draw around 250mA (from previuos threads) here so if battery 30Ah that will drain battery in around 120 Hours battery cuttoff switch will isolate it so battery will last for months as above Tim Edited by - tbird on 23 Jul 2011 19:49:14
  12. If you have a battery cut off always use it, immobiliser will drain battery to below starting power within 5 to 7 days Tim
  13. Think somewhere near Marseillan for the first week Tim
  14. Looks like these two VARTA batteries would also fit the bill http:// code 530 030 030/ and code 530 400 030 Tim

  17. I've just asked for a quote, do I get one, oooooh i 'm excited now, I have managed to get some L7C stickers organised and now maybe, just maybe a 7Speed sticker 🥰 🥰 🥰
  18. Cheers for that, and no I haven't rounded anything, yet 😬 but the Allen head will If I lean on it any more, I will try and crack it with a socket on the nut, you are probably correct about copper slip, but twas not me wot built it guv, I am working through nuts and bolts removing and copper slipping, or replacing and copper slipping bit by bit, just hadn't got around to having a good look inside wings so thought I'd ask a man who knew Tim
  19. I know its going North and not sure what time you need to be in Dover but if really worried and I dont think you need to be, can you get to Dreadnought first thing, if any Mechanics in, probably take 5 minutes to fix, alternatively if you get away early 7 workshop on your way if open Saturday, If you cut accross to M1 then Caterham Midlands are around until 4 pm and could well help Tim
  20. Ahmed agree with BOSS, just because the gauge is not working will not effect car, you have a working stat (with hole) you said the other day your engine was running cool , France is not baking hot at the moment, if you leave the car running for a while, stationary, and the fan cuts in ok then you have an indication of temperature, just relax and enjoy the holiday, your car wants to work for you, everything will be fine. what time is your ferry and where are you at the moment Tim
  21. Slight Hijack, Paul have you the allen bolt type fixing and is the nut on the back free or captive, I ask because mine appear to be seized but have not tried a spanner on the nut yet, Don't need to get them off but don't like have seized nuts best to free things up before the emergency 😬 Tim
  22. Not sure I can quite picture " is then assembled inside the tube boss on the outside face of the wing" have you got a pic, Mine sounds similar except that the bolt head, which is an allen head, is on outside of inside face of wing , sorry don't have good pic and no access to car at the moment Tim
  23. Think you are correct about smell of fuel, I am sure all will be well tomorrow, have a great Holiday, drive carefully and enjoy , if you doing Glasgow Dover in one hack tomorrow go to bed man get some rest 😬 Tim
