  1. Fin has the original build sheet got anything more than Aztec orange listed, don't know if they put the paint code on as well, i suspect not, Aztec orange code has been one of the Holy Grails for as long as I have been on BC , are there any proper paint shops left around you in Glasgow, a guy with a Spot photometer should be able to read the paint and provide an exact match
  2. well a few weeks ago a new google based search , similar to mine i guess, was created , and we were supposed to test it, however as I said at the time, if it ain't put in the banner area no one will know it exists and no one will use it, as you say Ian it is incredibly frustrating , especially as the old answer will come back, it works for me as long as you put the right bits in capitals or inside quotes etc etc . the members are not thick, the existing search obviously lacks clarity and efficaciousness (I'm amased that's even a word :-) )

    speedo sensor

Shaun thanks, the procedure is similar but as far as I know the pickup for the CSR is from a sensor and a wheel on rear hub, am being a bit lazy in the hope someone knows the numbers or has a stack fitted to a CSR and can just read off the figures, I have seen a figure of 43 pulses for some Caterhams, just hoping for more input

    speedo sensor

Thanks, will keep that as a last resort, rather than pester an unknown stranger , Ah just checked it out 213 performance are new stack agents , cheers , Tim

    speedo sensor

Hi, may have to recal my stack speedo, anybody happen to know how many pulses per revlution the sensor receives, ideally on a CSR , but presume they are all likely to similar if they have rear wheel sensor , of you have a stack 8130 fitted , again ideally on a CSR with cr500s , could you have a quick look at speedo cal settings and let me pinch them :-) cheers
  7. does this help https://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/general-technical-chat/119026-general-specs-2-3l-duratec.html
  8. yep seems to work and if running adblock , in chrome anyway, no adds visible, can the link be embedded on the page somewhere ?
  9. Fascinating read, beautifully executed from theory to proof. shame you are not close to me I need a second key for my Bmer, and I suspect you would be just the man :-), cheers though enjoyed the read Tim
  10. it does but you still have to remember to use the + operator and not have any spaces, if so many people find the search facility poor then by definition it is poor, people should not have to construct MySql like search terms , if I use Google then I don't have to
  11. Chris I think Ian said quite clearly what he was searching on it was a thread entiteled Differential oil and lessons learnt, by The Pikey if you type that into search it does not find the thread , if you use google it finds it first hit . Admittedly it does find it if you put AND between every word, but is that really acceptable , surely it would be better if the AND switch between words was the default , it also works if phrase put inside speech marks, but again most people will forget to do this and often you can only work out how to find something after you have found it and then tested various methods, using Google search usually finds it quickly, many if not most forums have better/more accurate search facility
  12. because no one that has any influence will admit it is , feel free to use my custom search (google engine) by clicking the link under my sig Tim
  13. Jon, nowt to do with this trip, which sounds great and if you can get to go along with them it would be a great intro to European touring, but if you are thinking of independent touring just remember, there are a lot of members spread throughout Europe, i have found in the past if you put a shout out on here they are happy to help with ideas, routes , advice and phone numbers/contact details , and there is also the European dealers network along with the odd independent , once you get the planning sorted you realise that there is a surprising amount of emergency support on tap if needed , and you can plan around it, and also meet up with some great people, that, combined with ADAC membership, should be able to help allay the perfectly Normal concerns about leaving the country in a silly little car :-) Tim
  14. Cheers Ian, it certainly was not easy to get on , so i will remove and see it cutting a notch sorts problem cheers everyone for the advice Tim
  15. everything was removed, Aero filler, hose Tank, then re assembled , i remember getting the Aero filler screws back in was a true PITA, but i can't remember at what point i tightened the tank end jubilee clip, but you could have a point , i will try tightening tank end before forcing Aero end to comply, certainly makes sense and can't do any harm Tim
  16. Thanks Stephen , much Appreciated
  17. Its a new tank and a new hose, so in theory all should be good, but will have another look for dings , its just when pouring petrol in some seems to get down between hose and neck of tank, doesn't take much to be stinky ;-) have reseated several times, so putting it down to the way the jubilee clip is compressing the hose, hoping a Mikalor hose clamp will exert more uniform pressure
  18. Possibly, will get one of them as well, belt and braces Thanks for the idea
  19. Thanks Anthony, have already replaced hoses, just can't get a decent seal with the existing jubilee clip so want to put a Mikalor hose clip on, it would be handy if Caterham listed ancilliary parts and sizes , i'm sure they used to
  20. Hi wonder if anyone can help, away from car at the moment, anyone know the hose diameter, need to order a decent hose clamp before i go back up to where car is, its a CSR so SV tank, if its any different, TIA Tim
  21. OOOH this is pretty, (said quietly so as not to disturb) just sneaked passed them upstairs to say Happy Christmas to the shedders, I'll leave this case of port here so we can all toast Christmas later , slips out without slamming the door, best wishes everybody
  22. And i'd just opened an account , was gonna make my fortune in yen, thanks Shaun , easy to miss with the work you have
  23. Ah yes Novell, I was Novell accredited up to 5 , used to run a server in the lounge :-) , hardest thing with fixing clients servers was often finding them, they failed so rarely clients had often forgotten which box it was running on and exactly where it was :-) are you familiar with the BOFH archive, sure you must be
