    door hinges

original Question here, I am pretty sure I just ordered the sizes John suggested mine are standard fitment as far as I know, with Mirrors on Sidescreen , To be honest it may have been Stagonset I bought them from but they have gone bust, but Namrick stock them here, I also used dome nuts, on some of the bolts, looked neater, each side screen has 4 bolts for each hinge, 2 for mirror (can't remember whether these are csk), and 3 csk for stantion, I bought each of the head types to see which I preferred and bought both Nylock and domed nuts for same reason , can't remember whether I ended up using button head or cap head in the end and like you I am miles from car at the moment ☹️ Tim

  7. Well 4 anyway, BRG with Clams, Silver, Red and BRG with gold centre stripe, all bagged up for touring and without owners, in Bellingham, suspect owners may have been having a pint in the Cheviot, picked a great day for it, hope you enjoyed the rest of your day Tim

    Lawnmower

Just on the vague off chance someone can help with a big ask can anyone help moving a 32Kilo Hayter lawnmower from East Grinstead area to the north, ideally Newcastle upon tyne area or Carlisle, I could meet at either happy to go further south to meet Cheers Tim
  9. As Jez said, don't worry just pop the negative connector off, it will be fine for 5 weeks or 5 months, holding charge is one of the few things lead acid batteries are good at. Tim
  10. some wiring diagrams on the Caterham Italy site (bottom 4)http://www.caterhamcars.it not sure if they are Duratec though. Don't know why but they have always been a good source for manuals, although now a lot of the links refer to the UK site. Tim Edited by - tbird on 1 Jun 2014 21:26:54

  13. well interesting afternoon, down side roll bar needed to come off, upside, could be done with shocks in place, stupid thin head bolt, can see no logical reason on CSR for using that bolt, certainly won't be going back in, had to grind down a 14mm socket to get them out. now POBC, are the two reduced head bolts 1/2" AF (me being lazy can check tomorrow :-) ) anyone know what thread they might be any reason not to use stainless to refit roll bar, seems to me most of the force on roll bar if car flipped would be taken by the sockets the bar sits in not the bottom retaining bolts what do people do instead of the foam strips to protect chassis from tank and Vice versa I was wondering about wrapping the chassis members with self amalgamating rubber tape, but wondering if it could trap moisture and cause corrosion. any thoughts gratefully received Tim Edited by - tbird on 23 May 2014 00:26:09
  14. Quoting Jonathan Kay: Can anyone do resistor colours in their head? Jonathan yep Buy british resistors or you get big values going wonky (Black Brown Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Violet Grey White) thats the polite one, the original mnemonic I was taught, while better, contains references to the foreign children of un married mothers, pre pubescent girls and sexual violence, so would no longer be considered PC Tim
  15. may have to remove mine in near future, is there a reason that a thin head bolt is used, could it be replaced with a hex or torx head bolt , or indeed a normal head Tim Edited by - tbird on 18 May 2014 17:52:56
  16. Quoting Paul Deslandes: are the wires to the rear lights a solid connection all the way through or is there a loom connector somewhere at the back of the car? If anyone has a pdf of the Sigma manual it would be handy to have it available on-line as I haven't found one anywhere. I'd be happy to 'host', copyrights permitting. 'P' is for purple, 'K' is for pink 😳 Paul is this the one you are after http://uk.caterhamcars.com/sites/default/files/content/uk/documents/assembly_guide.pdf you may need to be logged in to Caterham site to get to it Tim

I wonder if its the same as Hans Per's CSR here Tim
  19. , only abandoned you because I knew Ian was busy behind the scenes Tim
  20. bugger, if cleaning contacts doesn't work you could always use a pin/needle through live feed insulation, onto wire core, to bulb and measure continuity from there to earth with bulb fitted. Tim
  21. sorry not very clear, ideally from both wires of the connector, at back of connector with bulb fitted, so one lead of multimeter fixed at engine block then probe both sides of rear of connector, with bulb fitted , with other test probe of meter, that should tell you if all connections from +side of bulb to earth are good. Tim
