  6. oh dear, was just hoping for the last cheap option, have you checked for spark as well Tim
  7. very unlikely, but have you checked for a spark at 1/2, be a hell of a coincidence but could two plugs have broken down, maybe swap plugs 1/2 for 3/4 Are plugs 1/2 wet when you take them out, just in case it is a fuelling problem, just a stab in the dark Tim Edited by - tbird on 14 Sep 2014 18:19:01

  14. Quoting Grubbster: Quoting Titanium7: Save yourself a lot of hassle and get one of the PELA 6l vacuum pumps and suck the oil out of the Apollo from the top. Also useful for the differential and gearbox oil removal if you ever want to replace the oil in them. It's well worth having one of these to hand another from me, and, although it recommends against, handy for draining Fuel tank when you discover its leaking ☹️ Tim

  16. Andy Hi, that would be good, I,m off the road atm and CSR is garaged in Skye, hopefully sorted in a couple of weeks, but I think I will leave her up there for the winter, but if you are heading Kielder way anytime feel free to ping me a mail, always Beer in the fridge, coffee in the pot and, If SWMBO doing her job, biscuits and cake in the tin, Tim Edited by - tbird on 17 Aug 2014 12:32:17
  17. I suppose a screw extractor might work, but I have never had a lot of luck with them on anything other than fairly small screws, and if the extractor shears you are knackered in terms of drilling bolt out thinking about it your seat belt bolt might respond to a stud extractor Tim
  18. Myles just been through this with mine, the half head bolts are a PITA, which size socket did you grind down, I ground down a 14mm and managed to hammer it on, then used ratchet bar and a three foot chunk of steel tube to give a bit more torque 😬 somewhere there is a thread that discusses using a jack to apply enough pressure to back of the ratchet head to hold it onto the bolt head (sorry can't find it at the moment , having said all this, I have a bit more space to play with on the CSR, don't need to drop the shocks, which is even more annoying as there is no good reason to fit the half head bolts, they are certainly not going back in. Plus gas will capillary upwards to some extent. Jack and bolt thread Tim Edited by - tbird on 16 Aug 2014 18:01:53
  19. IMHO a good Stilson on threads will always do better than cutting a slot for a screwdriver, if no Stilson would it be possible to file a couple of flats for a conventional spanner. Tim
  20. SWMBO just spotted several maybe 5 or 6 , just outside Bellingham by Hesleyside hall Tim Edited by - tbird on 16 Aug 2014 12:15:08
  21. Would you not be as well just fitting a new tank, by the time tank has been removed , steam cleaned and prepped for welding, not sure there will be much difference in price, if you have just fitted the cage then it should be easy to get thin headed bolds out, so maybe only a couple of hours work to fit new tank.
