  1. Peter, I had the same problem with my 5 speeder this winter. It started with problems selecting reverse and steadily declined as you describe. The description you give is very similar to the 5 speed. The only problem I had was getting the lever out of the gearbox casting. It was a *very* tight fit. Gavel - yes this is a similar problem - the whole things gets cacked up and rusty making things stiff 😳 HTH
  2. Remove triangular riveted panel in the rear wheel arch to access the inertia reels. Undo two bolts and feed belt and fittings through slot in the back panel. Rivet panel back in. Easy - as long as you have enough rivets HTH
  3. Parked next to me in the Ship car park - Sandside, Cumbria. Along with to Strikers Thursday 8:30pm

  5. I run mine at 16psi as Martin. Been fine for 3000 miles. Originally delivered with 25psi and spent most of the LADS day at Curborough going backwards 😳 I find them more compliant that the 48's I had before....

  10. Got mine from Demon Tweeks About £11 IIRC - A lot of dosh for 8 bolts 😔 You'll need to ring them to order as they aren't in the catalogue
  11. I've done this recently, but kept the electric oil-p sender. I've got the list of parts Think specified. I think some of the parts on the FAQ are no longer available. Let me know if you want a copy
  12. Red Got your message - Dan is on it Will bring PPC Mag in for scanning tomorrow

  14. I'm refurbishing my standard girling front calipers. I think the calipers are from a Triumph Spitfire. Looking at Rimmers, there are 2 calipers fitted to the Spitfire. Does any one know if its the Mk1 & Mk2 or the Mk3 (type 14) version fitted to the 7? There are loads of numbers cast into the calliper, but none of them seem to match the information on-line.... Thanks Tim

    Head lamp wiring

Ta F355 - will give it a go Edited by - Tim Pollard on 10 Feb 2008 22:14:51
  16. I'm stripping my head lamp brackets down for powder coating. Is it possible to remove the wiring without cutting the wires? I've tried removing the spade connectors from the head light bulb end, but the remaining bits are still too big to fit down the tubing. I assume I need to cut the cable, or am I missing something?
  17. Phil Interested in the Apollo.... YHM
  18. I had the problem Mike mentions today. The hose into the heater valve was leaking. The coolant was running down the hose going over the bell housing to the thermostat. The coolant pooled on top of the bell housing and found its way round to create a leak that looked like it was coming from the clutch 😳 Mine is a K-Series HTH

    Reverse Selection

Thanks Paul How does the leather top come off the tunnel? I've had a brief rummage with it today, but couldn't find the fixings... Not much info in the build manual either. Cheers
  20. Reverse is getting increasingly hard to select on my standard 5 speed type 9 'box. The force required to push the knob down 😳 to allow reverse to be selected requires both hands. The action is smooth, and the gear engages fine. It feels like the spring is too strong. Am I a wimp, or is something more sinister going wrong?
  21. Test it in a bucket of water, using a foot pump. Save putting it all back together and finding it still leaks The plastic on the heater enclosure is so fragile, I don't know how many times it will come apart before it splits!
  22. Ah - found it. Change the file extension from .JPG to .jpg and it works fine Not sure why only my browser does this though - the error seems to be server side 2 me 🤔 more OT> Edited by - Tim Pollard on 27 Nov 2007 08:46:06
  23. Using Firefox 2.0.0.9. When i follow the links above i just get a niknak smiley waving his finger at me 😳 Firefox image properties are: Src http://niknak.org/g/Cars/My%20Cars/'02%20Caterham%207/07-11-26_heater-matrix-leak/DSC00879.JPG Width 100 Height 50 File Size 2 KB Alt The image “http://niknak.org/g/Cars/My%20Cars/'02%20Caterham%207/07-11-26_heater-matrix-leak/DSC00879.JPG” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. Get same at home and work! Good luck with the heater.
  24. Carefully remove the foam. Its stuck on with a rubbery type glue, and pulled off easily on mine. You can just see one of the screws holding the plastic flange on this pic I re-glued the foam with copydex when id fixed the leak... Edited to say the link above only works with IE. The gallery web app doesnt like firefox 😔 Edited by - Tim Pollard on 26 Nov 2007 19:59:58
  25. I replaced mine by carefully cutting the steel swaged ends off the original hose. I then used the original fittings on a new length of hose from a local motor factor with some hose clamps. Make sure the hose is pressure rated - 4 bar IIRC Cost £2 Works fine. Alternatively the guys at Think Auto should be able to sort something out for
