  1. Have agreed a deal with a dealer to buy a new car and now have 3 weeks to sell my Forester before I part exchange it. It's a Jan 2006 on a 55 plate, manual with currently 34,500 miles on the clock. It's in metallic red with black leather, has built in sat nav, cruise, the worlds biggest sunroof, CD player etc. I've had it from new (not pre-registered), it has full Subaru service history and was last serviced at 30,000 miles when I put 2 new front tyres on it as well. It has a tow bar and makes an awesome tow car with a seven on the back. What more can I say...it's very (very) quick, handles well and will do about 29 mpg if you take it easy. Manufacturer warranty runs until January 2009 so you can buy with complete confidence! A Subaru dealer would ask for around £15,000 for it, I'm happy to let it go for £13,300 to someone from here. Will be going on Autotrader at £13,600. If you want more info or pics just PM me. Steve Edited by - steve robinson on 11 Jan 2008 21:39:40
  2. I'm on the border of Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire, about 10 minutes from the A1 at Biggleswade. If he wants to have a look let me know, I travel around a lot so may even be able to meet him somewhere if he wants to have a look at it. Steve
  3. Just testing the water... I'm thinking of selling my Forester sometime between now and Christmas and was wondering if anyone on here would be interested in it. It's a Jan 2006 on a 55 plate, manual with currently 31,000 miles on the clock. It's in dark metallic red with black leather, has sat nav, cruise, sunroof, CD player etc. Just had the 30,000 mile service and has two brand new front tyres on it, rears have 3.5 mm left and the discs and pads won't need changing for about 20,000 according to the dealer. It has a tow bar and makes an awesome tow car with a seven on the back. What more can I say...it's very (very) quick, handles well and will do about 29 mpg if you take it easy. I'm the first registered keeper and the warranty runs until January 2009. An offer over £15k will secure it. It's not time critical to sell it so if you are interested but need to wait a few months let me know as I would rather keep it an extra month or so to sell to a Blatchatter than have to deal with the general public. Cheers Steve
  4. Goblin - when you're ready to move on from the SLR can you email me first as I'd love to have first refusal. It's easily the best seven I've had so if the money is there (and the time to drive it) when you want to sell I'll buy it back from you if I can. Steve
  5. BTTT before they go onto Ebay! Steve
  6. I know a few on here drive these wonderful cars so I thought it worth advertising the bars here before putting them on Ebay. They are the genuine volvo article and have been used a few times so have the usual bug splats (whicj I'll try and clean off of course!)but are in OK condition. Happy to take £50 for them, buyer collects from Beds/Cambs border. Steve
  7. Feeling quietly confident that the R26 meggy will stand me in good stead. Small and nimble, great traction from the LSD and lots of torque out of the corners and lovely brembo brakes. Bring on the porkies Steve
  8. Hi Rob, Of course I'm easily tempted back. I have a browse at the sevens on pistonheads every week or so, but the budget to buy looks some way off ☹️ How's the racing going? If Sally says no to the meggy then I'll have a go in the Forester! Steve
  9. Does the fact that the Megane 230 is Sally's car allow me to class it as my "other" car. If so I'll do my best to persuade her to let me have a crack in it. The grip from it is amazing on the road so I reckon it would do a useful time round curbugger.. Steve
  10. Yes - but look how much it cost me 😬 These things have really come down in price haven't they. Glad you've been happy with it though. Steve
  11. i can offer you: My poor showing on the overall standings was down to me selling my car to pay for a downstairs toilet and showerroom ☹️ or I would have been quicker but my megane isn't fully run in yet and has a higher centre of gravity and more weight than the seven ! Steve PS - I will be back, just not this year !
  12. Thanks chaps, Can't do the 26th May as I'll be battering myself(and my bike) around a hilly 25 mile course in the chilterns I'll get working on getting Sal to agree to me sprinting our precious new road car - for some reason she doesn't seem keen at this point in time, can't understand why More than happy to come up and marshall at the club event as well - I'm sure it won't leave me feeling desperate to buy another 7 😬 Steve
  13. Not been paying much attanetion to what is on and where for obvious reasons, but can't seem to find a list of dates for the year anywhere. I was thinking of marshalling at Curborough and MIRA if the dates fit in with stuff so would like to get them in the diary. I'm also tempted to enter the Magane 230 into the marshalls club sprint, not the same as a seven but would at least give me a bit of sprinting this year - anyone else planning on playing at one of the marshalls sprints? Steve
  14. Course its allowed. Drop me a line (or get Ernie to) and I can send you photos etc Car will be back in Solihull from tomorrow. Steve
