  2. Reverse light is not a testable item. Therefore you do not need one and even if you have one it does not have to work. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing

    Toyo R888

slysee - I haven't tried the R888s in 2G compund but reports from others seem favourable. I expect they will not go off as quickly as the CR500s and will give better dry grip. Even if they don't last any longer they are at least cheaper. I used to run Yoko A048s and they were better than CR500s on track. IMO though you can't beat the CR500 on road because of how light they are and how supple the side walls are which gives the best ride out of any of the tyres I have tried. Having said that, when my current CR500s die I will be fitting a set of 2G R888s for road and track use. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing

    Toyo R888

Just for information, I'm running the SG compound (that's the very soft one) for sprinting. As I drive to events (no trailer) they are also clocking up some road miles. So far they have been to Shelsley Walsh, Loton Park and Harewood (thats around 1000 road miles plus the events) and are holding up pretty well. Not that I would recommend them as a general purpose tyre (I have CR500s for road and track days) but I'm hoping they will last me a full season of events even driving to each one. 6. Hi Geoff - one reason it's undersubscribed might be because it clashes with the Harewood hillclimb. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  7. Not for much longer - I've emailed them to ask for it to be changed 😬. Still a great picture though. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  8. I was just looking at pictures of last years event on the Harewood website and notice that I have been wrongly blamed for Roland's spectacular dive into the gravel trap see here about halfway down. Great picture but not sure I should take the rap . Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  9. Sold to Lionel via email. Thanks for your interest. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  10. Sorry John just checked my email and I received a mail at 2.19 this morning offering to buy so I guess I should give that person 1st dibs. If that falls through then I'll let you know. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  11. John - I'll take some photos tonight. Blatmail me your email address and I'll send them through to you. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  12. BTT - price reduced massively. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  13. They fit under my race stays so doubt you will have a problem. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  14. I found that 21s went off after a few laps - they heat up very rapidly on a hot dry track. If they have survived 6 track days then you weren't pushing that hard and maybe the extra power and experience means that now they are overheating. At 4 years old though, the rubber has probably hardened. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  15. Caterham 8 spokes are nice - I have 2 sets in black - and are lighter than the minilites. Powder coat on the black ones seems a bit soft - I had a problem with one wheel where the tyre fitters managed to lift the powder coat from the edge of the rim (they replaced it for me but I suspect they were a bit unlucky). I would stick with 6" for that power level - lighter and cheaper (and cheaper tyres)! Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  16. I find the JJ one easier as it seems to put the lip onto the popper more easily. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing

    1 WO and 21 WO

At the M6/M42 interchange on Wednesday I was passed by a new Azure wearing the time honoured Bentley plate and then a few seconds later another one. Also spotted a McMerc in Slough yesterday - must have been lost - number plate V8SLR. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  18. I spent most of this morning watching that - I hope it's imprinted the course in my mind - doubt it though. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  19. Bring your water wings! Currently the B4393 is closed between the A458 and the A483 due to flooding - that's the only way into Loton! Lets hope the water has drained away by the weekend. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  20. Hi Geoff - how are applications going for the Saga Sevens class? The reason I ask is that Gill is a bit nervous about being in the blue group. In order for us both to have a session I have applied for the red group which I would not normally go for (I usually apply for the blue session). Not a big deal for me really but I do wonder whether the Saga class has confused people a bit and maybe even put the odd person off. Please accept this as a constructive question - I'm all for getting the oldies on track . Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing

    Shelsley results

Just realised that the Shelsley results haven't been added to Competitors' Korner yet. Is Rob too busy pulling his car apart? Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing

  24. Gill and I sent our entries in ages ago - hope they arrived. Anyone got a copy of the entry form for the Marshalls' Sprint on Saturday? Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  25. The catch is that the powder coat has lifted from the edge of the rim. The rim has been used for one sprint and is otherwise undamaged. The powder coat lifted when the tyre was fitted. There is also a light score in the powder coat around the inside of the rim. Edited to say - just looked at it more closely and the score has gone through the powder coat but not very deep. I guess this would be a useful spare for a racer or if anyone can get powder coating done cheaply it would get them a bargain wheel. This rim costs £140 new. Anyone interested at £25? Collection from Slough preferred but I could send by courier at cost if required.
