  1. I was just looking at pictures of last years event on the Harewood website and notice that I have been wrongly blamed for Roland's spectacular dive into the gravel trap see

    here about halfway down.

Great picture but not sure I should take the rap *redface*.

  2. I found that 21s went off after a few laps - they heat up very rapidly on a hot dry track. If they have survived 6 track days then you weren't pushing that hard *tongue* and maybe the extra power and experience means that now they are overheating. At 4 years old though, the rubber has probably hardened.

  3. Caterham 8 spokes are nice - I have 2 sets in black - and are lighter than the minilites. Powder coat on the black ones seems a bit soft - I had a problem with one wheel where the tyre fitters managed to lift the powder coat from the edge of the rim (they replaced it for me but I suspect they were a bit unlucky).

I would stick with 6" for that power level - lighter and cheaper (and cheaper tyres)!

  4. At the M6/M42 interchange on Wednesday I was passed by a new Azure wearing the time honoured Bentley plate and then a few seconds later another one.

Also spotted a McMerc in Slough yesterday - must have been lost *tongue* - number plate V8SLR.

  5. Bring your water wings! Currently the B4393 is closed between the A458 and the A483 due to flooding *eek* - that's the only way into Loton! Lets hope the water has drained away by the weekend.

  6. Hi Geoff - how are applications going for the Saga Sevens class?

The reason I ask is that Gill is a bit nervous about being in the blue group. In order for us both to have a session I have applied for the red group which I would not normally go for (I usually apply for the blue session). Not a big deal for me really but I do wonder whether the Saga class has confused people a bit and maybe even put the odd person off.

Please accept this as a constructive question - I'm all for getting the oldies on track *tongue*.

  7. Just realised that the Shelsley results haven't been added to Competitors' Korner yet.

Is Rob too busy pulling his car apart? *tongue*

  9. The catch is that the powder coat has lifted from the edge of the rim.

The rim has been used for one sprint and is otherwise undamaged. The powder coat lifted when the tyre was fitted. There is also a light score in the powder coat around the inside of the rim. Edited to say - just looked at it more closely and the score has gone through the powder coat but not very deep.

I guess this would be a useful spare for a racer or if anyone can get powder coating done cheaply it would get them a bargain wheel.

This rim costs £140 new. Anyone interested at £25?

Collection from Slough preferred but I could send by courier at cost if required.

  10. Definitely not a Rover item unless you have one of the very early 6 speed boxes with the Rover input shaft.

Standard clutch now is the same for all K series variants and is an AP item bespoke for Caterham.

  11. In my opinion CR500. It is much lighter than any of the others and the sidewalls are more compliant - this leads to a very good ride. They do not tramline like A048Rs. Dry grip is ample for road use and wet grip as good if not better than any of the others.

If price is a consideration then I guess I would go for R888s or A021Rs.
