We managed to get a slot on the 8:45 on Sunday as we don't take up much space 😳. I didn't take the 1st class option so I guess we're slumming it on the ferry. See you on board the 14:15.

I saw Michael last night and things are progressing quite well. Front and rear suspension all on and engine and gearbox back in. Wiring still to do and then it's all the fiddly stuff like fitting wings, headlights, aeroscreen and various trim.
I'm sure Michael will be along later with a fuller update.

Linda - Roland did do a trackday on them as well so no wonder they didn't last!

If you can't see them then you must have the knee trim panels fitted. These will need to be removed to get at the windscreen nuts. Probably have to drill rivets but if you are lucky they are screwed on with self tappers. Once you have got in there, best thing is to order these (they are handed so order a left and a right one). You can then put your trim panels back and never need to get behind them again.

Check that the problem isn't the throttle pedal sticking. I had this and have indeed had it jam at WOT on the hill at Loton Park . I slackened the pedal bolt slightly to free it up. I am led to believe that there should be some sort of spacer that prevents this from happening but I don't seem to have that on my car.

I have a question about dual drives as the supplementary regulations say:
Double entries are not permitted on the Bray Hill event, but will be considered for the events at The Sloc and Lhergy Frissell.
I couldn't work this out whether it refers to driving 2 cars which the previous regulation relates to or whether it referred to dual drives. Can anyone clarify this?Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing

OK Gill and I are definitely in. Has anyone booked accommodation yet? If so, where? We're going to travel on the Wednesday.
See you there.

Not me guvnor - still only 1900 but I guess those Duratec boys are gonna be in the higher class.
You must be one of the few who's engine has shrunk over the winter 😬.

Mark YHM back. Your first mail did arrive safe and sound - I just didn't pick it up until this morning.
Am I right in understanding that the first event is in the evening?
I take it we are in classes 7A or 7B (post 1983 Sports Libre and kit cars up to/over 2000cc)?

Martin - Haven't made the final decision yet - we were discussing costs and days off required last night. If we go then I am sure Gill will compete as well.

The standard Caterham bellhousing tank is tapped for the temperature sender. Is there something about the 21 chassis that prevents you fitting it there?

Not sure you need 205s on the rear unless you are planning major power upgrades. You'll probably find it'll understeer quite badly unless you make other setup changes.

That was most likely me and Gill on our way to Cookham. Not often you'll see us with aeroscreen fitted but as there is a foot long crack in the windscreen we thought we'd try the aero. Yes it was a nice day for it and great to be out in the car again as it hasn't turned a wheel for a couple of months.

Martin - ask Simon Rogers. His tripped on the curb at Pembrey resulting in a NTR for the day. A number of people actually bypass them for competition. NB this is the standard K series inertia switch.

Not required at all for the MOT see here, after all how can they test it?
It may of course be part of Construction and Use regulations.

I think it unlikely that the rivnuts will fill the hole adequately ☹️ but it might depend on the amount of stress that will be applied to whatever you are fixing to the bulkhead. Would it be possible to put an M7 washer behind the bulkhead and fix the rivnut through that?

Some photos of my car pre and post rebuild here. I went from 7" chrome to 5 3/4" black.

I don't mean to upset your sale but, for a normal S3 chassis these are priced at £285 on Caterham's website - the SV/CSR one is £400. If it includes the stanchions then that would add £100 to the new price.
