  1. Steve - see here for how it attaches. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  2. I use Loctite 574 to seal the blue plate - needs an oil free surface though to get a good seal. Shouldn't need to remove the sump as it should have a drain plug which you will need to use as there will be a fair bit of oil drained back into the sump. If you do remove the sump then Loctite 574 is also used here. Avoid Silicone/Hylomar or anything else that could clog your oil pickup. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  3. 1) Go with the 2 coils (wasted spark) set up - I wish I had and will be converting this winter. 3) Caterham have standardised on one AP clutch for K series cars which will be fine with 200+bhp Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  4. What is this Autoglym of which you speak? Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  5. As Lynda says - just have to cross one or other of the 8 and 1 out. Timekeepers seem OK with this kind of thing here. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing Edited by - Shaun_E on 12 Jun 2008 15:12:29

    Stack 8130

Buttons 1 plus 4 if it's an aftermarket one. If it's Caterham with 5 buttons then sorry can't help. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  7. It was the original tube. The replacement is made of much thicker steel. I was only saying a few weeks ago that I should replace it even though it was thoroughly checked 3 years ago before being re-powder coated. 8. Mine failed during a trackday at Pembrey the weekend before last. Luckily the clonking from the rear made me come in and an inspection revealed splits in the tube where both dampers mounted. Pictures here. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  9. Simon - yes that page seems to be missing from my dictionary too! I was a bit surprised though when you attacked the back of my car with a hand wipe - thought you'd taken leave of your senses for a minute. Good stuff though - removed the print from my DVA Power sticker as well as the dirt. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  10. Adrian's choice of evening wear. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  11. I have a Caterham 7" race exhaust and in normal use it doesnt' ground. If the jubilee clip that holds the silencer to the collector comes a little loose then the exit pipe can drop and hit the ground. Also the exhaust is quite heavy and I seem to go through exhaust mounting bobbins on a regular basis. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  12. A slightly more sedate lap here. My final run on Sunday which was a bit more competitive: here. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing Edited by - Shaun_E on 3 Jun 2008 21:21:22
  13. Our photos here. Let me know if you want original hi res versions. Shaun and Gill Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  14. Simon - I took a few here including the excellent Paella and the sad sight of my car on a trailer (oh the shame 😬). Gill has some more which I'll try and upload tomorrow. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing Edited by - Shaun_E on 2 Jun 2008 22:28:08

  19. We had a brilliant weekend. It could have been a very different story though as my de-dion tube broke during the trackday on Friday. I thought I was going to end up going home on a flatbed but several people proved what an excellent club this is. My heartfelt thanks go to the following: Gill, my wife, for driving from Slough to Redline in Caterham, collecting a new tube and bringing it to Pembrey (arriving about 9.00pm). Simon Rogers for the use of his garage, tools and his labour plus feeding us and letting us sleep on his lounge floor. (Thanks to Fiona too) Adrian Williams for trailering my car to Simon's and helping with replacing the tube. Mark Durrant for organising all of the above in my moment of despair and then scrubbing in (or was that trashing?) my brand new sprint tyres. Oh and not forgetting Mike Sankey for entertaining the ladies while the rest of us toiled away in the garage 😬. (Thanks for the mirror as well Mike ) Shaun Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  20. Bob - see my for sale post here if you are interested in a pair of soft R888s. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  21. A pair of 185/60 R13 R888s in SG compound (the soft one) which still have a lot of life in them. I have used them for eight sprints. I'll post some photos up tonight. £60 for the pair plus delivery or collect from Slough or Maidenhead. 22. Thanks Mike - I won't be there until mid morning either and anyway I can run with the windscreen to start with. I learned a long time ago that I am not the fastest thing on track . Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  23. Just booked on to this so see you in the morning. Has anyone who is going got a spare aeroscreen mirror or 2 that I could borrow. I now have a perspex aero which is fine for the sprint without mirrors but I guess I should have at least one mirror for the trackday. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing

    Suretrac LSD

With the AP Suretrac the wheels rotate in opposite directions just like an open diff. They are an unusual LSD and don't seem to follow the same rules as the plate types. MOT brake rollers don't seem to cause any problem. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
  25. Reverse the links and use washers to make sure that none of the thread sticks out from the nut to give the maximum clearance. Keep an eye on the tyres as under very high corner loadings the ARB can still touch the tyre. I have just fitted 235 rear tyres and it seems OK - will find out for sure at Pembrey this weekend.
