  1. I would suggest a GoPro with built in GPS (e.g. Hero 7 Black) and it will do everything you need unless you go racing. I rarely look at my Race Technology data logger output but often look at my GoPro footage which will show speed, G-Force, track position. It's fairly easy to use and the video output is very good quality with built in image stabilisation. BTW my data logger is for sprints/hill-climbs and circuit racing - I wouldn't be using it on a track-day.
  2. GT85 was always my dry lube of choice and it looks like it's now owned by WD40!
  3. FacebookTwitterrssYouTube
  4. I assume this means that Goodwood and Hethel will not take place? I was just about to put my Goodwood entry in :-(
  5. There is a Camping and Caravan Club site near Norwich which we used the only time we did Hethel but bear in mind the gates are locked until 07:00 so it makes an early start difficult.
  6. Good luck Simon - sounds like a great adventure.
  7. Gearless ratchet:https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gearless-Ratchet-Stub-slim-SQ/dp/B07PG57CPN/ref=sr_1_5?adgrpid=52597120549&gclid=CjwKCAiA0svwBRBhEiwAHqKjFqBm4UaLyjXAPXgd2jZ0gHS68HRGLi35CrZb2fCteqYT2e-qX0nRkRoCt-AQAvD_BwE&hvadid=259071930454&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=1006906&hvnetw=g&hvpos=1o2&hvqmt=b&hvrand=6210299812473695722&hvtargid=kwd-295697546799&hydadcr=29382_1700898&keywords=gearless+ratchet&qid=1578324115&sr=8-5 Brilliant for small spaces. Can't remember where I got it from but even Halfords do one now: https://www.halfords.com/workshop-tools/tools/spanners-wrenches/halfords-gearless-ratchet-3-8 There are no dimensions on it though and a short stubby lever is best for awkward spaces.
  8. Bumper black provides a temporary fix - I've used the Autoglym one. Needs to be reapplied fairly regularly to maintain a nice finish.
  9. On rear wheels, avoid putting weights on the very inboard part of the inner rim as the de-dion will rip them off. On the fronts, avoid putting weights on the outboard part of the inner rim as the brake calipers will rip them off - at least with big brakes this is the case.
  10. 5 Sevens at the ferry port on their way home. Hope you had a good trip.
  11. It was a fantastic day in the sun. Here's my T2:
  12. The standard Rover pump is marginal for fuel delivery on higher powered engines so its possible that it's a pump issue rather than a pressure issue. There is an "R500" pump upgrade to deliver greater volume. However it does sound like you could do with a fuel pressure sensor and gauge to see the pressures at WOT. I'm using the upgraded pump and the same type of fuel pressure regulator as you on my 260bhp Duratec with no issues.
  13. Seems like your fellow competitors are a helpful bunch!
  14. As part of Graham Nearn Mermorial Blat, the Club will be running a prize raffle, the proceeds of which will be donated to our Club charity, ‘Race Against Dementia’. The fabulous top prize is a customised car cover, this will be made by our generous donor Top Quality Car Covers who will be present on the day, so you may quiz them on the options. Tickets will be on sale throughout the day at both the British Motor Museum, Gaydon and then again at the Fire Service Training College in the evening but you can buy them now on-line here: https://www.lotus7.club/gnmb-raffle Other prizes will include two items of Stewart memorabilia, a bottle of fine Tawny Port given to the Club during our Span/Portugal Tour, editions of LowFlying in which Sir Jackie and Paul Stewart have signed their interviews, plus display items from the talk. Important note: The tickets may be purchased by members only. On-line sales will close at 12:00 on Friday 20 September. On the day bring your membership card with you!
  15. My slower T2 here: The GoPro decided to throw a wobbler for my T1 :-(
  16. Hi John - I'll have the PiperCross stuff please. I'll be there on Saturday pm and all day Sunday
  17. Looks like it set's the reply to the last post at the time rather than the one you selected.
  18. Here's the video of my second fastest time - the GoPro battery dies just as we were called for T2 which was my fastest!. Only 0.09 between them though! Sadly Simon was nearly 8 tenths clear of me :-(
