I got a confirmation of receipt of payment email today which states that my entry is accepted. No other info. 

I think it was proposed at one time to remove this requirement but the 2021 blue book has this in the Speed section: 

Competition Numbers

9.2.5. Cars will be identified by means of a competition number, allocated by the organisers, which must be visible from each side of the vehicle and displayed on a contrasting background in a proper and durable way, acceptable to the Chief Timekeeper of the day.

9.2.6. Competition numbers must be covered or removed at all times whilst driving on the public highway.

It's been a while since I uploaded any videos (my YouTube channel shows the last one was in 2019) so let's try and keep on top of it this year. Had a great day at Goodwood even if I was the only one in my class. Here's my 3rd timed run:

When you arrive the Goodwood Gate team will check you against the declared team members you have submitted. They will have a list of your Surnames listed alphabetically, with the car numbers. If you have not been listed they should ask you to complete a contact form, so you can be traced if any Covid incidents occur.

My crew hasn't received an email :-(

The BRMC Covid declaration form that we had to complete in addition to the MSUK one has this text on it:

Details of persons connected to the entry who will be present at the event must be listed here, Max 3. They will be emailed to fill out a Covid self declaration form.

 

The Goodwood gate staff will have a list of everyone who has been declared as attending and who have returned teh Covid Declaration. If the declaration is not submitted access will be refused

@Pete - I've just booked in here: https://www.chestnutscampsite.co.uk/ but note they don't have any facilities open and there is no electric hookup. It's basically one big field. I think Chris and Matt Bramall have stayed there before. When I booked I asked and they can still fit a few more in. We stayed at the Norwich Camping and Caravanning club site last time we went but they lock the gates at night and don't open them until 07:00 which meant we were a bit rushed getting set-up in the paddock.

I filled that form in but it says we will receive another email for each person declared. I guess some questions about Covid status.

Any news Graham? I need to book a campsite for Saturday night so need to know if the event is going ahead.

Are we supposed to have paid yet? The email confirmation I received said "Don't pay until we tell you to" and I haven't had another email to say "Please pay" but some competitors are shown as already paid! I'm confused 

Run once and count for both, Normally you enter the host championship and ask Graham nicely to record your times in the L7C championship as well  

There's an update coming soon so let's see if that solves the issue. 

When you take the engine out, label all the wires that you disconnect - you can guarantee you'll forget where some of them went!!! Also take photos as you go especially of cable and hose routes.

It was a great day.

Luckily we had a beer fridge  We found a new campsite about 2 miles from the venue so cold beer in hand shortly after the event.

I used to lose K-series engine mount bolts with alarming regularity plus alternator mounts and I went though 3 block mounted coils before changing to a remote coil pack. It's just the stresses and vibrations. Loctite helps and regular checks. I recently lost the nut from the nearside upper wishbone balljoint :-o 

My wiring loom is somewhat bespoke so I don't' know the colour of  the connections but I took a feed from the coil. As I have a wasted spark set-up I had to program the dash accordingly.

Come to think of it I used a step drill as well (in my defence it was a long time ago  ). I also had to cut a hole for a Stack dash so used a dremel with a cutting wheel.

Yes you can - drill a hole with the biggest drill bit you have and then enlarge with a Dremel. Mask with several layers of masking tape first - it's easy to slip if you aren't careful! Finish with a round or curved file. I'm sure there are other ways but that worked for me and I started with a blank dash :-)

I just use the software that comes with the GoPro. It allows you to overlay speedo, g-force and track map. Just remember to switch the GPS on first - it isn't always on by default! I bought the Hero 7 Black when it came out - I guess the 8 has some new features.

I would suggest a GoPro with built in GPS (e.g. Hero 7 Black) and it will do everything you need unless you go racing. I rarely look at my Race Technology data logger output but often look at my GoPro footage which will show speed, G-Force, track position. It's fairly easy to use and the video output is very good quality with built in image stabilisation. 

BTW my data logger is for sprints/hill-climbs and circuit racing - I wouldn't be using it on a track-day.

GT85 was always my dry lube of choice  and it looks like it's now owned by WD40!
