  1. It was a good day and stayed dry - we even saw the sun for a bit. I never got close to Rob all day, nor did I get below 47s but my PB of 47.07.
  2. Another well known gearbox re-builder no longer recommends Redline MTL. I can't remember exactly why but I think there was a suspected issue with damage/wear to certain components due to the acidity of the oil - something like that anyway. I've gone back to the Caterham supplied gearbox oil or the Halfords equivalent. The change can be a little reluctant when cold but once warmed up it is fine. I have a stronger detent spring fitted to help with the change from 2nd to 3rd which is always the tricky one when competing.
  3. What class are we for Anglesey? I guess 3G for us unless there is a 7 club class.

    Curborough...

which turned out to be my quickest.
  5. We wondered what all the noise was until I saw the L7C badge on the back. Great choice of car - my other tow car is a Superb
  6. 1) If you wear a crash helmet, it's worth looking at the B6 which has a headrest set back slightly so that your head isn't pushed forward when wearing a helmet 2) Makes little difference if you use the same runners although you can tilt the seat with spacers. 3) IMO makes no difference with respect to comfort but it makes a big difference in the winter as Tilletts get very cold. The pads insulate you from that to a degree. We've got Oxted ones. 4) I resused the leather seat runners but you get some box section ali non-ajustable ones in the Tillett kit. Tillett do their own version as well. Edited by - Shaun_E on 22 Aug 2012 14:37:36
  7. I think some people have used a piece of software called . Might be worth a go as you can download a limited version for free.
  8. *arrowup*It was P1 - the misdemeanor was recorded for posterity - .

    Harewood...

The Oracle that is the Internet proves otherwise: here And Mr Sankey, how would you explain your T1 of 98.55s? And no it wasn't raining at that point!

Just listened carefully to the P2 spin and yes I really did just say "oops" 😬. Not sure that is what I was thinking 😳. Edited by - Shaun_E on 6 Aug 2012 21:45:38

    Harewood...

I'll post my timed runs later but, for your entertainment, . It didn't seem that bad at the time but the fence is awfully close .
  14. I had the same problem. A couple of washers under the engine mount helped but as in your case the air box then fouled the nose cone. In the end I cut the airbox and fibreglassed a new bulge into it in the right place. I emailed Bernard and he said it was a problem on some chassis' and that he was having the mould altered.
  15. You mean this one ? 😬
  16. Just got around to sorting my video out. A disappointing 68.35 . ☹️

103.6mph according to the Racekeper. The wiggle I got under braking from that speed made me twitch . Edited by - Shaun_E on 19 Jun 2012 08:28:07

The Stack was showing 102 I think. I need more power :-) Shame I fluffed that gear change just after the start but I think that probably only cost me 100ths rather than 10ths.

    Clear Aeroscreen

Are you sure? Here shows 11 in stock. Unless of course you are talking about a full width one which is rarer than hens teeth and rocking horse droppings.
  20. I had the same problem as you but solved it by spacing the tensioner away from the pump cradle with a couple of washers. I checked the DS belt run and it is still straight.
  21. Well my 1st timed run which was my quickest. Decidedly ragged in places .
