  1. Please can someone post specific instances where an expected thread doesn't appear in search so we have something to look for. Indexing can be quite a large overhead on a website so it isn't typically done immediately but is done at scheduled points. For some reason, sometimes it gets behind. We have reported this in the past and it has been fixed. I'll report it again and try to understand the root cause. I have also requested that the default search be boolean AND rather than OR. I'll let you know if this is possible. Bear in mind Google spend billions on their search engine and we are using a free Open Source search. Personally I think it's pretty good (ignoring the missing indexes) and returns expected results reliably. There are several filters available as well to narrow things down. The search covers all content types so if you are looking for technical help you will get results from the Guides section, Blogs and even News as well as from Techtalk.
  2. I've seen this a couple of times. Doesn't cause a problem as far as I can see but will report it to our developers. Shaun
  3. Hi Dave - now downloaded. Will add to guides shortly.
  4. Yes - send it to me and I'll add it to the Guides section. Image sizes in forum posts are limited to prevent slow load speeds. shaun dot elwell at lotus7 dot club
  5. This happens occasionally - not sure why but it's normally a transient thing. I will report to our developers.
  6. Quite possibly. If it happens again let us know.
  7. Were you logged in? Sometimes you get logged out and in that case you won't see the messages. I've just tested it by sending myself a message from a test account and it immediately displayed (1) next to messages in the top panel. Let me know if it's still a problem. Shaun
  8. Your request has now been added to the list
  9. I'm pretty sure that one of the cam cover breathers sucks and one blows (stop sniggering at the back ). On my old K I had the dry sump conning tower breather connected to the one that sucks and the one that blows connected to the catch tank. This worked well and no clucking sounds.
  10. Yes I can see that the right hand side of the parts list is not visible. I've added the list as a downloadable spreadsheet.
  11. I think I might have a spare (unused) dizzy cap and rotor arm if I haven't already donated them to the spares box. Will check tonight.
  12. Blimey - that one snuck in under the radar. I knew it was coming at some point but hadn't realised it was ratified. We had discussed it when looking at our regs but as we already insist on FIA bar or cage for all competitors then it wasn'g going to be an issue. I suggest finding our who made your FIA bar and seeing if they would be willing to supply a sticker - they might want to physically inspect the bar I guess.
  13. If it's got the sticker on it to say it's compliant then you are fine. If it doesn't then technically it doesn't comply. The Caterham FIA bar is an approved ROPS but only with the sticker and the petty strut.
  14. Just changed my 6 speed gear knob and it was an M10 thread so nothing is guaranteed. I bought the Quaiffe nylon one from Demon Tweeks. They sell it in 3/8, M10, M12.
  15. Hi Chris - you can give our space to someone else. We won't be coming to Anglesey. Shaun

    Tired dampers?

A geometry check might be a good idea as well.

    Tired dampers?

If it was a race car it might have 210lb/in springs on the back which will be hideous on the road. I suggest you find out what the spring rates are. 225 fronts and 140 rears would be OK but you could even go 200/130. Std fronts are I believe 170 and rears progressive. As for dampers - the billies are a decent damper and you could get them refurbished. Most aftermarket dampers do not have the dirt/weather sealing that a road damper has hence the need to rebuild. If you do a lot of miles then 2 years is probably about right but you could leave it longer if you wanted. I had my Ohlins rebuilt this year after 5 years and they were a bit messy inside!! They still worked reasonably though. Talk to Simon at Meteor for some sound advice based on the type of driving you do.
  18. The MT forum may contain discussions that cannot, for confidentiality reasons, be visible to anyone else including ARs. For instance discussions with 3rd parties (suppliers or otherwise) that may or may not come to fruition. This is quite normal in any company. The ARs also need a forum where they can have frank discussion without the inhibition of those discussions becoming public. I can create a members only forum easily enough and even manage the permissions for who can view/post to it but I need NDP to keep it out of the search results and double check what I have done. They may also be aware of consequences I am not - I am not a Drupal developer, just a site administrator. The MT will discuss the request and, if they agree with it, it will get priced and slotted into the priority list. At the moment the big priority is to get the webshop up and running so that people can pay their subscription on-line and also book and pay for club events.
  19. If one of you would like to update the issues log with all the items you think are missing then please do. You can download it and then re upload - I'll move the updated version to the first post. Please do not remove any items/comments already there but feel free to make additions. It would be good if one person would manage this rather than every man and his dog having a go. As you well know, there are finite resources both in terms of money and volunteers' time. Many of the requests just haven't yet made it to the consideration stage or, if they have, they are so far down the list that there will be no action for the foreseeable future. The requests made so far could cost tens of thousands of pounds to develop so we have to be very clear on prioritising the ones which are best value for the club. Any existing functions that break are immediately dealt with. Just because someone makes a request doesn't mean it's going to get immediate attention. As I've said many times, I try to answer most posts in the bugs/suggestions areas but I can't respond to them all. There are plenty of requests that will be turned down on value vs cost grounds - that's just the way it is. If you want a say in that decision, join the team. Regarding a members only forum, yes it can be done but, as ever, there is cost. I've looked at whether I can do it myself and it is may be possible but I need time to test it - time I don't have right now. Yes it is reasonably straightforward but it still takes time to make the changes, test them properly and put them live. Ian - why don't you raise the members forum idea on the MT forum and see if other MT members are in agreement. If they are then I'll get a price to have it done and we can put it in the priority list.
  20. I'm sorry to say that it is unlikely we will ever get this info back. It was an error made in the data migration but not spotted until a few days after go live at which point it was too late to go back and redo the migration. The migration was hugely complex and trying to maintain links to pages within the site would have required a multiple stage upload that would have added to the cost immensely. The site search is, despite the views of some, pretty good and can find most things. Links to external sites are another matter and these should have been brought across. We don't know why they didn't work but it was related to formatting differences between the old site and the new one. In theory we could go back and fix these as we still have the data, but in reality it is probably more cost than it is worth as many of the links are now out of date or are dead links. We appreciate the efforts people make to bring useful content to the site and hope that continues. Shaun
  21. On soft compound Kumho V70A I'm pulling peak G of around 1.3 but that is on the edge of lockup and not sustained. Can easily pull a sustained 1.15G. All based on data from Curborough. At Llandow at the end of the start/finish straight, again pulling around 1.3G peak. Braking very hard but for a short time for the chicane there registered a peak reading of 1.65G!!
  22. Ian - I don't know what settings you have applied but I have checked this in Win7/Chrome along with many other browser/OS combinations and it is not a problem. Unless someone else can replicate the issue it will have to remain closed - we can't fix an issue that can't be replicated and affects only one person. The unable to edit post bug is also resolved - it wasn't a bug at all merely a setting issue. Some people previously had Full HTML posting rights which were subsequently removed and hence they could not edit previous posts that were created with Full HTML. As posted on the bugs forum, I will fix any post found to be in that state. Shaun
  23. As requested, here is a list of currently identified issues. It's not exhaustive but I've tried to capture most of the main bugs and requests for additional functionality. Please don't use this thread to discuss issues but if I have missed something then post here with a link to the original thread. Website issues log_v1.4.xlsx A status of "Open" means there is no work being undertaken at this point. This may be due to other priorities, timing or cost. If it is decided that no further action is to be taken, the status will be "Closed".
