  1. Hi Andrew - new or used? Might do the job. Cheers, Shaun Just called Kumho and they do have stock of 235 in K20 (soft) so if I can get a decent pair of fronts then we might be good to go. Would prefer K12 fronts but beggars can't be choosers.
  2. Just got off the phone to Mel and there are no Supersoft Kumhos in stock and no production scheduled. So having just put my entry in for Class 6 I now find I don't have tyres. If anyone has a set of unused or barely used 215/50R13 and/or 235/45R13 Supersoft (K12) compound they don't want then I'll gladly take them off your hands. Otherwise it's a choice between: Class 5 Avon ZZS or ZZR OEM, Class 6 Avon ZZR, Class 7 slicks - whichever we choose is going to require a change in car set-up

    Slicks

Thinking about class 7 this year but have lots of questions about slicks and car set up. Radial vs Crossply - which is best for a 7 and first time on slicks? What sizes? What compound? A91?What suspension settings to use? Of course this will depend on the answer to 1. Currently our car is set-up for radial road tyres with significant front camber (-2.75) and the rear was measured at -1.75. I would prefer to keep close to the radial settings as I may be doing some other competition on Kumhos. What if it rains? Swap back to Kumhos or is everyone going to splash out on wets?
  4. Hi Chris - can you add me to the list as at the moment it goes to Gill! Thanks, Shaun
  5. Are the 245/50R13 ZZS available yet? If I were to go the 1B route then 215 front and 245 rear sounds about right for class 5 if a little "Carlos Fandango" Also anyone know if Supersoft Kumhos are in stock yet?
  6. Now published here. It's only visible to members. Let me know if I've missed anything or made mistakes.
  7. I don't think the 1b/1c thing is done and dusted - there may be a last minute reprieve although don't hold your breath. If the rules remain as currently published then either buy some 1b tyres or some clubs, including L7C, are running a "mod prod lite" class specifiying tyres from 1a/1b/1c - i.e. no slicks. But you will need a compliant rollover protection system and an FHR device. It looks like the best list 1b choices are either ZZR OE fitment or ZZS - both in a medium compound (A64) - or Toyo R888 which can be had in a soft (SG) compound but only in 205 width. There will likely be a good market for your Kumhos if they are soft or supersoft as there aren't any available new at the moment.
  8. The dip/main switch can sometimes fail but normally I'd expect neither side to work on main beam in that case. Swap the connectors on the back of the switch and if it now works on main beam but not on dip then it's the switch. Otherwise try replacing the flash switch.
  9. I've added a bolt list to the guides section here Please email any additions/changes to me and I'll keep it up to date.
  10. Top tips on using the forum can be found here: http://www.lotus7.club/forum/chitchat/forum-user-guide: To insert a picture that is on your own computer: Position your cursor where you want to insert the image in your post, and click the Image button (resembles a couple of mountain peaks). Click "Browse Server", and then "Upload" in the top left of the new window that appears. Selecting "Choose File" will open a file explorer window where you can choose the image file that you want to upload and click "open". Click "upload" and after a few seconds your picture will be uploaded to the server, and appear highlighted in your own folder. Click "Insert File" at the top of the window and the image will appear in an Image Properties window where you can change the size if required, or simply click "OK" to add it to your post.
  11. Sticker required as the bar uses a smaller diameter than that mandated in the blue book. As the rules have changed this year to ROPS being mandatory I expect that 1) scrutineers will be checking and 2) there will be confusion as to the rules. You would probably get away without a sticker most times but you can guarantee our favourite scrutineer will be checking!!
  12. Jenvey will sell you a back plate machined to fit if you don't want to cut your own. I have done the drilling and cutting myself in the past on a blank plate but it is a faff.
  13. You could replace it with a VVC head and remove the VVC mechanism - the valves and ports are the same size as on a VHPD. Piper sell a blanking kit as well as camshafts of the correct diameter. DVA (oilyhands on here) can supply. You'll want a head that has been tested for hardness. While you're at it, may as well have it ported and fit some better camshafts
  14. I made the switch from K to Duratec 2 years ago. I went with Raceline as they provided a more or less turn key solution - the fully built engine, bell housing, clutch, engine mounts, etc. to drop it straight in. I then took the car to Think Auto and they made all the hoses (oil, water, fuel) for me while I waited. Exhaust system came from RaceCo (Ammo at the time) although Raceline can also supply. It was a pretty straightforward swap. There are plenty of other engine builders out there and a good range of power outputs depending on your needs/desires. Mine is about 260 bhp and 170 lbft which is more than adequate Happy to answer any specific questions on the install.
  15. The joys of engine tuning Hope you get the issues sorted and back on the rollers soon.
  16. I took it out last time with the prop still attached but in the end removed the de-dion tube to make access easier.

    4,5,6 or 7 then?

My upgrade list reads the same but sadly the bank manager doesn't agree
  18. Hi David - what are you trying to find? You can search for: speed AND championship - this will give you everything that has both those words in it "speed championship" - this will give you everything with that phrase in it Search covers all content types - forum posts, news, events, etc. There have been some problems with indexing and these are being investigated.
