  1. H Phil - you have a couple of choices

    1. Swap to wasted spark ignition with a single coil pack which will require some minor rewiring - preferred option in my opinion. You might need custom plug leads depending on where you mount the coil pack (when I had a K, I mounted my coil pack on the bulkhead and had Magnecor make up suitable plug leads). If I remember correctly we used the GM coil pack supplied by SBD along with the matching connector.
    2. Drill and tap the back of the block to accept a distributor (requires a drive shaft adding to the end of the camshaft) - Dave Andrews did this for my first modified K.

If you are going to a programmable ECU then an Emerald accepts the EU2 plug - other ECUs might need some rewiring and a new ECU plug. You don't need to rewire much else as the connections to the engine are more or less the same.

Dry sump fitting should be straightforward although the "instructions" require some interpretation :-)

  2. Avatars had to be disabled while troubleshooting another issue. It looks like user uploaded pictures are not displaying but the default list are. I uploaded my picture again and it displays. Bit of a pain - sorry. NDP still investigating the other issue which is due to a Drupal update.

  3. Hi Rich - I'm using the R500 AP cover with a 4 paddle sprung centre ceremetallic clutch plate. No slipping but it is a bit binary in operation! I can get you the part numbers next week. The plate is quite aggressive so wears the cover quite quickly meaning it's a regular service item. I'm reckoning on changing it each year. The alternative is to get a full race multi plate clutch but they are mega bucks.

  4. Hi Jonathan - the other one is HTML embedded in the page so would have been tricky to get a consistent feel. If someone converts the standard schedule to Excel (or already has it as such) then I'll revamp the pages and keep them all in one guide. As it is, if you search for service AND schedule, both guides come up.

  5. Just be aware that the camping facilities are basic - there are portaloos but there is no running water in the top paddock (other than what may be falling from the sky).

  6. Get the bigger pump. You then won't have to empty it halfway through the process. It really is as simple as sticking the tube into the dry sump tank, pumping the pump handle a few times and sucking the oil out. I don't even bother warming the engine. There is very little oil in the sump so not essential to drain that but if you have a sump plug then you could drain the sump too (my Raceline sump doesn't have a plug).

I have a Pace easyclean tank and I just remove the centre breather to get the pump tube down to the bottom of the tank - I guess it's probably similar on the Caterham tank.

    Thanks for feedback Ian.

Simon - I know *wink* - just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing some other product that might suit me. I'm tempted by the full AIM set-up and sell the Racekeeper but it's still quite a bit of money to change. Will discuss at Curborough.

  8. Before I send my Stack dash off to have the broken tacho needle replaced for the second time (cost £160 last time) I'm after first hand recommendations for a reasonably priced alternative. I'm thinking of a full LCD display and am aware of the  AIM MXS (replacement for the MXL) and the Race Technology Dash 2 which are similar in both price and function. Could I use all my existing Stack senders with either of these or do they come with their own? Are there any others at the same sort of price point (i.e. <£1000)?

  9. It did take up more than it's fair share of track *tank*

The owner used to race clubmans cars but in his words "as my swansong I wanted to find out what having 500bhp under your right foot is like"
