  1. When you sign up, you get a 14 day trial of "Gold" membership. If you don't then subscribe, you revert to the standard functionality - you can still use the route planning but there are some limitations.
  2. Here's my somewhat lairy T2: Having watched Simon's run which was only 6 hundredths faster, I had to question the time but the data logger agrees.
  3. Test reply to Audio Addict comment
  4. Ian - I've sent a test email to you from the site - let me know if it arrives or not. I think the issue could be that you've selected "Replies to my comment" and that most people don't actually reply to your comment but they reply to the thread hence you don't get an email. You need to select "All comments" I think. I'll do some testing
  5. Similar spec to mine then (mines a Raceline engine). Have a word with Mike Riley at RaceCo and see if he can make a long silencer to fit your car - that should get you below 105. Of course induction might also be an issue and the cams and cam timing could be different to my car so no guarantees.
  6. What spec engine is it? I'm using a RaceCo long (950mm) silencer on my 260bhp engine and record less than 105dBA even at Goodwood. Not sure it will fit on standard manifold pipes - I've got a RaceCo through the bonnet manifold system but they aren't available anymore (the silencers are available).
  7. The Blatmaps page is now updated to show distances in miles.
  8. Hi ChristopheC - I can't see a request from you to join the L7C group - perhaps try requesting again. Shaun

    Rivet Sizes

    Correct size is 5/32" or 3.97mm - I've often used 4mm instead.
  10. Cost is just for Gold - you can continue to use the basic membership for free.
  11. Because we don't have an off the shelf forum, we use a content management system (CMS). Integrating an off the shelf forum with a website is always problematic so we used the "forum module" of the content management system. Remember "old blatchat" required a login for the forum, a different login for the website and a 3rd login for 7FAQ - we now have one login for all of these functions. A lot of sites don't require member login for access to content but we do - it's part of the value of paying for membership of the club. If we used a dedicated forum package, we would need to integrate that login with the website login so that it was seamless for the user - that is always a problem. Even an off the shelf forum needs configuring and they aren't as simple as you might think. The world is moving on from dedicated "forum" sites to more comprehensive websites with other features and integrations - see our integration with MyRouteApp for example. A CMS is a much better way to manage content but the forum module is not quite as rich as a dedicated forum package. We've made it do most things a dedicated forum can do and there are still tweaks we can make to improve things. I'm sure we can make the profile view of forum posts include comments as well. Shaun
  12. No problem to use Google and it will always be a better search engine than anything we could buy or build. The site is allowed to be indexed by Google's bots so results should be good. The search on this site is better than most (including many big name corporate sites) if you bother to learn how to use it. It works no differently to "old blatchat" and in fact has many more options and filters. The profile view of forum posts simply looks for "content" that you created with content type "forum post". It doesn't look at "comments" which is what a response to a post is. I'm sure we could change that relatively easily - I'll have a look when I get some time.

    rivnuts

You don't need to use 24 RivNuts for the removable scuttle - I only use about 8 strategically placed ones! I like Stu's idea and wish I'd thought of that when I did mine instead of drilling the holes bigger.
  15. Seen on Mortimer Lane yesterday evening.

  18. As part of the Blatchat re-organisation, we are trying to focus on the main activities of club members. One of those is Blatting and touring so please use the section to discuss Blats (planned and ad-hoc) and Tours (both club organised and those you've taken yourselves). Maybe post some pictures from your recent tours or suggest itineraries. https://www.lotus7.club/blatmaps
  19. Hi Everyone, In an effort to simplify and clean up Blatchat, "For Sale" and "Wanted" have been combined to form a single "Marketplace" section. To help identify whether an item is "For Sale" or "Wanted" a radio button has been introduced to select between the two - this radio button simply pre-pends the words to the topic title so you can either use the button or type the text yourself. To use the button, click on the "Advanced" tab and then click the relevant button. Shaun
  20. I entered at 08:28 on 15th June (the morning after the regs were published) and I didn't get a guaranteed entry :-( Entries closed on Monday so we should find out soon whether we got in or not.
  21. Hi Andrew - do you mind if I convert this to a "Guide"? Wiki functionality is coming soon so this type of post is brilliant. Shaun

    which gopro

Is anyone using a GoPro HERO6 (or a HERO5)? They seem to get rather a lot of negative reviews (about 20% 1 star on Amazon) with the software getting the most criticism followed by battery life. I'm also interested in the Garmin Virb Ultra 30 but that seems to get even more bad reviews (25% 1 star) with battery life being particularly poor plus frame drops and connectivity issues also raised although the software seems better. I currently use a Racekeeper data-logger but it only records in standard definition 4:3 aspect ratio and that's beginning to look very dated and my YouTube videos are pretty poor resolution now. I want something with GPS so I can show a speedometer, G-force and track map on the videos hence why I am looking at the HERO5/6 or Virb 30. They are significantly cheaper than a replacement HD video data-logger but still quite pricey so they need to work as required.
