Yep, same as T7. I used to work for the company that owned the former Rover parts business, so I took out the old thermostat and fitted the replacement through flow item. I’ve got a bag of about ten if you’d like me to send you one. Rog

This morning spotted heading southbound on B5023 between Wirksworth to Duffield. great weather

spot on Shaun - a mate of mine from school days was in Cov hospital for weeks over the summer break one year. A family friend drove up from Oxford to visit him, spending c.90 mins between Oxford and Cov, then a further 45mins lapping the ring road. He could see the hospital but not the route off the RR. Apparently his lap times improved :) Can't believe Chris has used the word 'facilities' in the same sentence as 'Coventry' Rog

aah the Coventry Ring Road - where I learned to drive. Just hope the signs are clear so you Sprinters can find the exit. I recall folks being stuck on RR for days back in 80s enjoy the weekend

TomB - I seem to recall that wild camping is ok in Scotland provided you leave the place as you found it etc. There's a great bunk house / pub with drying rooms south of Fort William see below. www.inchree.co.uk Don't forget the 'wee beasties', particularly on the west side of Scotland - summer (early ish June through to Aug or even early Sept) is their human flesh party time - go prepared with Avon Skin So Soft. It's fine when you're driving but the minute you stop by water to admire the vista - they're there....chomp, chomp, chomp. And to pick up JA's point. You don't have to stick to the NC500 'route' - it was created by local councils and tourist authorities etc. Be inventive and go off piste. Rog

Agree with Kentrebel and Stephen - having made several trips to that part of the world, it is important to spend your money locally. At one breakfast stop in Ullapool, I chatted to a lifelong resident who whilst appreciating that folks were enjoying the scenery, she lamented that many visitors just seemed to base themselves in Inverness, belt round the NC500 and spend money again at journey's end in Inverness Also if the lead car goes through the passing place, that does not mean that the other 10 + cars must follow. It's a give and take process. Locals are trying to live their lives whilst we're enjoying ourselves. Work / school runs etc I tend to stay on the west side anyway as some of the north-eastern areas are a bit boring. have a great trip Rog

Mark, please also remember that as a member of the Club, the Club's Employee and Public Liability policy will cover you for damage etc to third parties whilst on a Club trackday - a valuable benefit that should not be underestimated. To be clear, the policies outlined by Steve above cover damage to your car. You can buy third party cover but that would typically cost c.£350 per track day. Malc, To the best of recollection, I have outlined below my approach etc, with the caveat that it was last Sept and I've been to sleep since then, so details may be a little sketchy Operating system: iOS I bought an iPhone 6S Plus 2nd hand to act as my GPS. My employer does not allow many apps to be donwloaded onto their provided handsets and i wanted the larger screen to read whilst in the moving 7. Being a tight sod (and with hindsight incorrectly), I bought a SIM-less handset, as I didn't want to sign up to a fixed cost just for a 7 day trip. Having spoken to Marcus (our MRA Guru), prior to departure I better understood how best to use my set up while in Spain. I created all my researched Blatroutes on my Mac and saved them in MyRoute_App (which are available for all). Once in Spain (and this was the practical challenge), I had to download the Blatroute for the day at the hotel using WiFi prior to departure. Again with hindsight, this rendered me unable to change tack part way through the day - for example if the route was not quite as good as expected, or we fancied investigating roads nearby. At the time, i could only download one route per day which was also a bit limiting - THIS MAY HAVE CHANGED SINCE SEPT 2018. What works very well is the fact that My_Route App for advanced route creation and the Navigation App are made by the same team - so uploading routes was very simple. There was no need to 'translate' via one of the established GPS provider platforms (Garmin, Tom Tom etc) I think that covers the key points I can remember good luck and feel to ask more questions if required Rog

Having cleaned the gunk off the diff stamp, I have a AP 3.62 diff in my SLR (as fitted by previous owner) I've searched around and believe that the internals of this diff may be different in nature to other manufacturer's items, so not sure if the trusted Castrol 373 is the correct oil. Any ideas? I know I can always ring Phil @ R&R in the morning, but would like to get the refill done today if poss thanks Rog

I also strengthened the fork that comes with the dry sump bellhousing and fitted a clutch pedal stop to ensure I wasn't overstretching the mechansim

Ditch standard screen, doors and all that pointless heavy stuff. You've got that gear with your regular tin top. Buy a set of brooklands + half doors + decent all in one rain suit....you'll never look back Not helping much are we :) Most importantly - enjoy the new motor when it arrives Rog

Dell I would recommend that you search on the Techtalk forum, as you will find some excellent top tips. I have build manual but it's not that much help in my opinion. Having done the job on several occasions feel free to PM me Cheers Rog
