  6. 😬 😬thanks Steve - you're so picky...fancy wanting to know where I am starting from. sorry but I can't resist this - bloke says to Irishman " how do you get to Dublin from here?" reply........................................"if I was going to Dublin I wouldn't be going from here" 😬 😬 DERBY is the starting point. Note to myself - don't post notes having been to the pub
  7. yes that's right 😬 not car parts . ME ❗ I've bought a Subaru Legacy and need to arrange to meet to collect somewhere in the above area *thumbup* anyone heading down that way - need to be there sometime before noon Rog
  8. still in original (if a little grubby box). 1 inch x 23 spline Have checked with original supplier (Superclutch) - it is from the Rally/Sports range. looking for c.£140 I can take pics if necessary Rog
  9. I have found a clutch plate in my garage which came with the engine I bought a few years ago. It is unused. The box identification marks indicate the following Quartermaster IL-6-12-684 Diameter = 185mm (7.25in) Splines = 23 (1 inch across) have looked on Demon-Tweeks website and there apparently 3x choices of lb/ft; 300, 650, 1000 Also I cannot tell if it a "Pro-Series Racing Clutch" or "V Drive Racing Clutch" once identified it will be for sale Cheers Rog
  10. Kevsta I live in Derby and I'm heading to Thame c.Feb 17 any use? Rog

  15. any pics please Sepp - colleague may be interested Rog
  16. go on then Mr C - sold to the man who goes through clutch cables at the blink of an eye Rog
  17. is the Minno still available 🤔 Rog
  18. find it difficult to believe that anyone owning such a vehicle would entrust its sale to a company called 'flogit4u' - the marketing consultants worked hard on that one
  19. Thanks again Mav -slight correction.....the guy who originally specced the engine presented the blank cheque. He sells engine to someone else who in turn sells engine to me. I've got an idea of the original price.........and I don't have that sort of dosh . dannylt - all steel, 1800, 264 kent cam, nifty bit of head work etc (the abridged version) I'll give the Mintex a whirl on the back Rog
  20. thanks guys the set up is as when I bought the car. It's got the big brake upgrade at the front (as fitted new in 1991). The fronts have the same pads as the rear but have plenty of wear left. Since then I've upgraded the engine to 190hp xflow and the brakes haven't proved to be a problem So far the feel has felt fine both on and off track. Mainly road use with c.3-5 track days per year Rog
  21. having done a quick 'search' on Techtalk - I understand that I need the Caterham 'blue spot' pads to replace the original Lucas pads that appear to have now reached the end of their natural. Is there an aftermarket equivalent (ie who makes the Blue Spot for CC as the OE supplier) ..or should I go for the Mintex1144 which seem to get a good write up 🤔 Rog
  22. thanks guys...thought I might be opening a can of worms 😬 Dave (Morris) - if only ❗ the 193 was at the flywheel - not on the road as you say Norm - it's more than fast enough for my limited capabilities......time to invest more on the driver me thinks. I'm with you Andy - only understood some of the technical explanations Rog
  23. according to my last dyno results I'm losing 40+ hp between the two. how can I retain more of this loss - different gearbox for example 🤔 set up is 193hp Xflow - std Ford 5spd box - 15in prisoners with 195/45 CR500s or is this type of loss typical and i'm stuck with it Rog 🤔
  24. well I've just fitted the new clutch pedal received this morning from Caterham. It has the offset bracket as mentioned by Pete and others, so the end of the cable can be securely fixed between the offset bracket and the main pedal stem. problem is - as you look from the drivers seat, the cable takes a hefty dog leg from offside to nearside. *mad*it's almost as if the hole in the pedal box case that takes the cable through is in the wrong place If i put the 'eye' on the offside of the offset bracket it lines up better, but then it kinks over as you depress the pedal which is what caused it to snap last time. anyone with any pics - would be very helpful Rog
