  1. nearside - haven't checked mounts but will take a look Rog
  2. I finally got everything sorted today and turned the key - it started after a couple of pumps of the throttle. 😬 😬 I've adjusted the inlet valves to .20mm and exhaust to .22mm (cold). Engine runs smoothly at idle. Oil pressure steady at 60lb ft at c.1000rpm tickover. I havent driven it on road yet - largely because I'm concerned about the 'clacking' noise which seems to come from the nearside of the engine. Engine is the 1700 SPR unit I bought earlier in the year JUST SPOKEN TO CHRIS WHEELER AT 7 WORKSHOP. WITHOUT PROMPTING HIM WHEN MENTIONING I HAD AN SPR ENGINE, HE IMMEDIATELY SAID THAT ENGINE MAKES A RACKET AT IDLE. APPARENTLY THEY WERE FITTED AN LIGHTWEIGHT USA SOURCED PISTON. HE SERVICES A COUPLE OF OTHER SPR ENGINES AND THEY'RE THE SAME. JUST SUGGESTED A COMPRESSION TEST AND THEN DRIVE IT WITH EARPLUGS UNTIL WARMED UP..............SO I'M FEELING A BIT BETTER NOW - ROG any advice 🤔 Rog Edited by - RogNeedham on 22 Jan 2008 11:42:07
  3. according to the thread below the blanking plug is 3/8in BSP. However that seems a bit small. My car does not have the angled connector in the manifold fitting - I only have the blank hole in the manifold itself. this seems to more bigger? Rog here
  4. "so Percy, what do you have there?" "why Edmund 'tis a tin of 'purest green'" "surely Percy - you mean Kryptonite, Roulette or Kawasaki Green" "no Edmund....just GREEN...it has not a name" 😬
  5. Dave - I've been thinking along similar lines myself 😬 saw this in Caterham Midlands on Monday (why is that damn place so close to where I work ).....here . ..Roulette Green I've contacted the competition manager of Kawasaki Racing team to get the colour code of the metallic colour they used for a while....apparently the team has gone back to the std flat colour . I asked if he had a few litres going spare 😬
  6. be careful Mr B - or a poke in the eye with a chopstick might cause offense 😬 found the link to Guys' pics last night..............and having gone into all the boxes of bits I was given with the engine ,I found a load of black pipes with various connectors - I think these are the fuel lines. They just don't look like the ones I had on the old Weber 45s I had before thx again Rog
  7. *thumbup*thanks for clarifying that Brent 😬 I was about to start looking for someone called Small Balls 😬 Rog
  8. thx guys - Ian, does Guy Lowe have a BC alias I need to look for? Rog
  9. I'm finishing off the installation of the std xflow into the old 7. I did not get any fuel pipes with the engine and carbs to link everything together. Before I buy some new braided hoses - could anyone send me a photo of everything connected as it should be please? also what bore of pipe should I go for? the following link shows 3x snaps. 1st is the fuel pump, 2nd is the carbs without fuel pipes and 3rd shows close u pof the brass connectors that are loosely in the 'fuel in' side of each carb. click here email to rogn3112@aol.com *thumbup*Rog
  10. cheers Ian - had already found that. Then I remembered I spent 4 years running the Lucas warehouse at Fradley (doh) ...so I contacted someone I knew there and I'm now in possession of the official wiring diagram................having said that - that is no guarantee of me installing it correctly 😬
  11. got one of these to attach to the xflow - anyone got a wiring diagram please 🤔 Rog
  12. thx guys - had athe same thought as you John - been in contact with Redline today and the items are on the way Rog

  21. Hi Paul yes I did get PM and have replied. Just posted this in case it doesn't fit your car configuration Rog
  22. good point Dave- it may come to that if the interest in the box in its present state dries up Rog
  23. I have one of the above for sale however it has the 2.0Sierra input shaft not the normal 2.8i shaft. It was specced this way to mate to a all steel xflow engine with Doug Kidde crank. Consequently when someone tried to fit the box to a std xflow the shaft was c.0.75in too short. any ideas (in the absence of 7 variants) what other vehicles (RS Fords, Duratec,Zetec) this might suit. Just looking for other sales options of no one on BC is interested Rog
  24. another BTTT before it goes on ebay Rog
  25. no probs - thx for letting me know Ben (haven't seen a blatmail though - maybe I deleted it by mistake ) Rog
