I bought the engine Rob Grigsby mentions earlier when I was pondering the same issues as you. Likewise I have limited technical ability and decided to buy the whole engine rather than upgrade the existing unit. I went from famine to feast 😬 -as it was (still is somehwere) a 193HP all steel affair 😬

again however I realised that having such a highly specced engine would require more TLC and general upkeep than I had the time or skill to devote to it. A Mr King special...very special

I guess you are not looking to go quite that far though

saw and heard 😬 this car at CCM this lunchtime. Great sound ❗ at first I thought it was a Radical parked in the car park starting up. One of their guys was having fun(?) getting it off the line

As Mr Price will testify I had a wee spin exiting Lodge ending up just nudging the armco opposite the pitlane entrance *eek* - for a moment I thought I'd be heading back to CCM............thankfully no damage at all

I've got an alternator in the garage that came along with an xflow engine I fitted to my old car - a spare.

I assume it works. Just had a look at it - Mintex. You can try it if you want - if it works say £15 to NTL

twice yesterday at Cadwell Park, the drivers door blew off the 'hinges' - leaving me trying to hold the door on with just the rear and lower 'poppers' to prevent complete disaster

apologies to anyone unfortunate enough to be behind when this happened.

The main rods were fully into the hinges on the windscreen before setting off *confused* - would the fact that the car has clams create some weird vortex at track speeds 🤔

never had this happen on the road - any suggestion for a permanent cure....apart from getting an aeroscreen and half doors 😬

That would have been Dave 'Dusty' Miller returning from Cadwell. He and I left c. 1610 but I was separated from him at the lights in Horncastle

...it was a great day 😬..and I know Dusty enjoyed it too
