  1. BOSS Thanks for the offer, but looking for something a little larger and more powerful to combat the heat of the mid June sun in France. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. (Lancashire and District Sevens) www.lads7.co.uk Growing old is compulsory - Growing up is optional
  2. We don't have a vehicle that is able to transport our normal fridge on this years LADS to Le Mans trip. We're therefore looking for a smaller one (or two) that can be transported in a normal hatchback type car. We could also consider an old caravan fridge. Can anyone help? 3. Curses Richard beat me to it. At least it confirms that it is 36mm. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. (Lancashire and District Sevens) www.lads7.co.uk Growing old is compulsory - Growing up is optional
  4. Big nut on rack is 36mm as I recall. TOP TIP :- A 36mm socket can be expensive. However, it is a size used on cranks of push bikes. If you go to your local cycle shop or the cycle dept. of Halfords you'll find a cheap open end cycle spanner which should do the job. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. 5. Sounds very much like the oil pressure sender, but assume the foam baffle is changed regularly as this can break up and block the pick up and restrict oil flow. The senders are notoriously poor. Appears that they get water in them which leads to early failure. TOP TIP - put a bit of silicone around the plastic and metal where the spade contact is. There's a bit of a gap which can allow water in. I did it on my last one and so far so good - it has lasted longer than any previous senders. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. 6. Sounds likely to be a poor contact somewhere. Laborious job of cleaning all the connections starting with the battery and earthing straps. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. 7. Towsure in Sheffield will be best for your tow bracket - you should be able to Google them. I am just about to dispose of a 2004 1.8LX Mondeo. I've not used it that much for towing, but it is fine, although the 1.8 engine is a bit gutless when you have a trailer on. Having said that it will cruise happily on the motorway, but you'll need to use the gears a bit on any slopes. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. 4 very wet 7's (including a rather smart yellow and black one) outside a pub in Downham on Sunday Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. (Lancashire and District Sevens) www.lads7.co.uk Growing old is compulsory - Growing up is optional
  9. As I said before I don't think a small amount of elongation of the hole will make a great deal of difference. Richard does however have a good idea and you could drill a new hole 180 degrees different to existing hole. At the end of the day, I see very very few people using the petty strut even in sprints or trackdays. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. (Lancashire and District Sevens) www.lads7.co.uk Growing old is compulsory - Growing up is optional
  10. Neil The slight difference (5 or 6mm) will make no real difference and shouldn't compromise the effectiveness of the strut. Suggest you remove the nut and bolt, fix the top and bottom sections (the strut pieces slide inside each other) and then re-drill or file in situ. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. (Lancashire and District Sevens) www.lads7.co.uk Growing old is compulsory - Growing up is optional
  11. Petty struts usually come in 2 parts. This is to allow for slight 'tolerances' in the chassis i.e. different distance between the roll bar and the chassis fixing point. The strut is fitted into place and then the 2 parts of the strut are drilled and fixed to length with a bolt. Did you buy your strut/rollbar second hand and therefore already bolted to length? If so, you may have to redrill or elongate the hole. Hope this makes sense. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. 12. "Did the swap last night and I was right - Gareth" So was I. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. (Lancashire and District Sevens) www.lads7.co.uk Growing old is compulsory - Growing up is optional Edited by - Paul Richards on 23 Feb 2007 09:13:31
  13. I'm with Gareth on this one. Surely if the buckle is upside down you will have 1 slot (crutch strap) facing up and 2 slots (shoulder straps) facing down. The only way to do it is to dismantle the buckle and swap the laps straps over. Or am I missing something? Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. 14. Thanks NickA, but Nickh7 recommended them also, and I'd already tried them and they didn't have quite what I was after. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. 15. Thanks Guys I've managed to get hold of some stainless dome headed bolts similar to James Whitings. They'll do for now. I guess I'll add them to my Stoneleigh shopping list. 16. Thanks Nick, but they don't have what I want. I've recently bought some nice black alloy nuts bolts and cap washers from them, but the heads have only a narrow diameter. The search continues. 17. I'm looking to replace the bolts on my cycle wings. I saw a 7 some time ago with some rather smart anodised bolts which had large anodised cup washers and also rubber washers. I've tried to locate something on the interweb, but no luck. I thought that motorcycle spares suppliers may have been the answer. Big head fasteners are not an option as the wings already have 5 mm holes in them. Any suggestions as to something suitable. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. 18. Sump is available if you want it. Blatmail me or e-mail to paul@c7ppr.freeserve.co.uk Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. (Lancashire and District Sevens) www.lads7.co.uk Growing old is compulsory - Growing up is optional
  19. May be able to help. I have a x flow sump in my garage, but it's not mine. I'll have a word with the owner. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. (Lancashire and District Sevens) www.lads7.co.uk Growing old is compulsory - Growing up is optional
  20. I've got a newly black packed windscreen surround (No glass and no stanchions). If thats any use to you. Not sure of its worth. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. (Lancashire and District Sevens) www.lads7.co.uk Growing old is compulsory - Growing up is optional
  21. CSR seats appear to be slightly wider and suit CSR or SV. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. (Lancashire and District Sevens) www.lads7.co.uk Growing old is compulsory - Growing up is optional
  22. I think you've aswered your own question. Best bet is to trial fit with the calipers. It's no problem releasing the handbrake cables. As I recall they only hook on and it's a good chance to clean things up and make sure everything is free. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. 23. Scooter Interested in the seats, but need to shift a pair of brand new CSR leather seats first. Don't fancy a swap do you? Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. (Lancashire and District Sevens) www.lads7.co.uk Growing old is compulsory - Growing up is optional
  24. Whipsiderry I spoke with TSK not long ago and as helpful as they are, they are not geared up to supply tins of paint other than via Caterham, although it may be different if you are close enough to be able to collect from them. As its Caterham Yellow you need, I sugest you do a search - there are details of the various 'recipes' for Caterham yellow as the topic has been covered in the past. Taking the recipe to a local paint shop should enable them to make it up exactly. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. 25. I've had to give back word on the fridge and have e-mailed Stephen. The fridge is therefore available and ideal for Le Mans - I'm sure someone can make use of it. Stepehen - Sorry for messing you about. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S. (Lancashire and District Sevens) www.lads7.co.uk Growing old is compulsory - Growing up is optional
