    If you're planning on replacing the apollo in due course, just leave the breather pipe in place and tape over the end and use a cable tie to secure 'out of the way'. Worked for me.     One of my concerns with the Sabelt was the fact that the lap straps pulled down. In practice they are OK and in my opinion easier to adjust than the Caterham branded ones. I have found all the Caterham ones very stiff to adjust even when pulling up and also to slacken the lap straps is difficult as the buckle (which needs to be folded over) tends to be fouled by the S type seats. The Sabelt lap straps adjust easily and I tend to adjust tight and then breathe in and click into the buckle. Hope you can understand. 😬 Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S.     Trying to water proof the boot is almost impossible. Better to accept that water will get in and make sure that water doesn't give you problems. If you have carpet in the boot, replace it with rubber mat cut to size, which you can easily remove and dry. If I have luggage in the boot I make sure it is in rubble sacks or dry bags to keep it dry. This ensures everything important is dry. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S.     LADS have booked the Curborough sprint course for a test day on Tuesday 11th August. Cost is £50 per car. Just 10 cars taking part from 10.00am to 5.00pm with a 1 hour lunch break.     Gripping the shaft in a vice - Be careful not to damage the shaft. I use a couple of pieces of alluminium to protct the shaft from the jaws of the vice. You need to really tighten vice hard.     I bought Sabelt direct from them - look up website. Why? Much cheape and easier to adjust. My experience of the Caterham harnesses is that they are very stiff and whilst the lap adjusters are the correct way i.e. you pull the end of the belt up, they are a pig to tighten as they are stiff. Also the adjuster is wedged between the seat and the body which makes them difficult to extend. Sabelt were also good to deal with. By the way, I found the washers supplied with the Caterham belts were poor and did not allow the fitting to rotate properly - if you see what I mean. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S.     I got my red silicone heater elbows from SFS. They are 90 degrees and 16mm bore with 102mm legs. As I recall I had to trim a little off one of the legs to get a good fit.     John I think you're right - it is an SVA/IVA requirement that the wing extends further than the wheel. This will mean further forward on a 16 inch wheel compared to a 13 inch.     Stef Blatmail - there are 3 icons on the top of a post - click on the centre one (looks like paper and envelope. You'll find it has a send button. For info there are a number of different types of caps. I suspect I have some that will fit your wheels (but I need them). If your going to LADS you can call and look see if you wish - at least you'll know what you are looking for. tel. no. is 0161 763 5410.     Miles Glad you got it in before the IVA. Appear to be simple fixes for retest. Gaffer tape some pipe lagging on the offending item in the passenger footwell?     Ian - I think you've answered your own question - assuming there is no play in the wheel bearings? Edited to say that there really shouldn't be any movement of the tyre in the vicinity of the wing stay, so clearance can be minimal. Paul Richards Area Representative - L.A.D.S.     Yes - Water temperature gauge sensor is on water rail with a single wire - it is same as the temperature sensor sticking out of the apollo tank. Start by removing wire and putting to a good earth. Make sure ignition is on and switch for gauge is over to water. Temperature gauge should deflect straight across to max temp. If it does, it is the sensor or it's earth that is the problem. If not you are looking for a problem in the wiring to the gauge. Good luck. Edited to say I must type quicker.
