  1. Paul. I think I have one. I'll look in the garage tomorrow.
  2. Will it go through the holes in the U/J before you put it on the rack? If so,you have got it lined up with the groove haven't you? 😬
  3. Turning in the indicator lights a touch is even cheaper!! 😬 Edited by - Paul Richards on 29 Jan 2014 13:58:11
  4. Don't do it. Use some sticky back foam. I'll bring some.

    Tyres

Do front tyres wear out doing donuts? Never have for me.
  6. John I assume that it will just be plain and thread through the fittings. I'm sure seat belt manufacturers will sell you a bit or how about using webbing from a seat belt in a scrap car? When you cut it simply heat the ends to stop fraying. Edited by - Paul Richards on 21 Jan 2014 16:56:45
  7. BigCol I just happen to have a bit of U section rubber lying around that will probably do the job. Probably bought it at Stoneleigh. I suspect Woolies will have something to fit the bill.
  8. I think this is a standard Type 9 Gearbox with standard ratios. The B is to designate slight mods to nose enabling fit to Duratec (and Sigma?) bell housing and clutch arrangement. Diff ratio sounds fine. Sierra diff used with 5 speed box is 3.92 to 1 (very similar). 3.62 ratio diff is normally used when coupled to 6 speed box. Edited by - Paul Richards on 19 Jan 2014 18:00:21
  9. Dave If you need some rubber to edge it and stop marking body, let me know.
  10. Ozzy The ones for sale are LHD. This means they are longer.
  11. Be patient. There'll be buttons for them all in due course. The most important ones are being done first 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬
  12. I'd like 2 throttle cables please if they will fit my car. My original however is code SBB10176 YHM Edited by - Paul Richards on 8 Jan 2014 18:41:22
  13. Yes, seat belt bolts are 7/16ths UNF, but rear tabs are not seat belt mounts. They are smaller (3/8ths UNF?) and actually used to mount old style seat runners, but are often used as lap strap mounts with some adaptation. As your car is an SV you may find it easier to use the same mounts as the lap belts with appropriate long bolts (it's a tight fit on an S3 -assume it's easier on an SV).
  14. I am truly amazed that this car hasn't been snapped up. It is a beautiful car with all the RiF carbon bits that members seem to fight over.
  15. An opportunity to buy a unique S3 Caterham 7. The car was built by Richard Lee (of Carbon-Bits) for his wife Henrietta during 2007 and will be known to many Lotus 7 Club members. All the panels on this car are of carbon fibre and the quality and workmanship of the carbon and the entire car are to an excellent standard. (Those who knew Richard or have purchased his products will know his exacting standards and the quality of his products). Car was first registered on 25th April 2008 and has been stored in an air chamber ever since. The car has hardly been used (stored for the last 3 years) and has completed a total of only 4,189 dry miles. Details as follows:- 1.6 K series EU3 engine 5 speed gearbox with long first gear (2.98) - modified by SPC. Tall FIA rollbar. Caterham big front brakes (AP 4 pot). Uprated brake master cylinder. Toyo Proxes R888 tyres. Tillet seats. 6 point Luke harnesses. Carbon race mirrors. FIA Master switch. Black pack. Black aero fuel filler cap. Car has full weather gear (doors and custom made hood to suit tall FIA bar). Carbon dash. Carbon transmission tunnel cover. Tonneau cover. Custom hood bag. The car is finished in bare carbon with roll bar, wings, bonnet and nosecone in hot pink pearl. (Pink parts are all easily removable for re-painting if required). Exterior bodywork is extensively protected by Armourfend. Car will be sold with the unique CA07BON number plate. Car currently garaged in Scottish Borders and viewing by appointment. 16. Richard did produce these, but as the profile of the side skin varied from car to car he made them individually if you sent him a cardboard template. I have fitted aluminium ones to my car. I left a small hole on the top so that I could occasionally squirt waxoyl/ACF50 in. I covered the the hole with a piece of tape. I secured them with something like tiger seal and a couple of pop rivets. Hope this helps.
  17. Best bet is to borrow some wings with side repeaters and fit just for the test. Also makes sure the wing protrudes sufficiently past the rim. After the test you can do as you wish. Personally I favour repeaters in the headlamp bowl. 😬
  18. I used to store a race car on a trailer and there were no long term problems. I think it's important that the trailer is moved occasionally to ensure tyres are not resting on the same spot all the time.
  19. First step is to change the cap on the expansion tank. Quality is poor and they produce the symptoms you outline. They only cost a couple of quid. Well worth trying first.
  20. Andy May be interested in cardoon. Which model is it? Does it have a frame?
  21. Mount sender remotely and seal around electrical conection with silicone. That will prolong the life of the sender.
  22. Quoting Jonathan Kay: Would you consider using a mounted smartphone rather than a dedicated device? Jonathan No. I have a good speedo app, but it's not really practical. Thanks anyway.
  23. My bicycle computer has packed in after only 11 years and it cost me £12!!! I want to replace it with a separate digital clock and a GPS speedo. Clock is no problem, but speedos seem expensive. This would fit the bill, but a bit too much for my budget. Any suggestions?
