The 666 stuff was as good as RiF's

I don't think so. 666 made very little as they didn't use the same techniques or machine as RIF. What they did do however was sell all RIFs old stock including those which RIF classed as substandard. I suspect you probably purchased some of those.

It really doesn't matter where the bleed nipple is in relation to the master cylinder. What does matter is that the fluid can be pumped into the slave cylinder and the outlet is at the top of the slave cylinder so that there is nowhere for air pockets to hide. If you see what I mean.

I think you'll find that the master cylinder on brakes is also higher than the bleed nipples and they work OK.

Please just make sure the master cylinder pushrod is getting full travel and you'll find it will pump fluid through. 😬

    Good Luck

The internal slave cylinder on the Sigma has the bleed nipple below the cylinder.

I don't think so. As far as I am aware the slave cylinder is around the input shaft in the middle of the bellhousing and the bleed valve is at the top of the bell housing.

Make sure you have plenty of travel on the brake pedal. You really need to push the master cylinder in to get it to pump fluid.

  4. You are correct. The hose to the thermostat housing is 19mm and slims down to 16mm to connect to the water rail.

You need hose set CHS120/B from SFS Performance. Ask for Anthony. It has all the hoses you need assuming you have no heater. See the deals and discounts directory in the members section for details of 20% off. *thumbup*

I assume that it will just be plain and thread through the fittings. I'm sure seat belt manufacturers will sell you a bit or how about using webbing from a seat belt in a scrap car? When you cut it simply heat the ends to stop fraying.

I just happen to have a bit of U section rubber lying around that will probably do the job. Probably bought it at Stoneleigh. I suspect Woolies will have something to fit the bill.

  7. I think this is a standard Type 9 Gearbox with standard ratios. The B is to designate slight mods to nose enabling fit to Duratec (and Sigma?) bell housing and clutch arrangement.

Diff ratio sounds fine. Sierra diff used with 5 speed box is 3.92 to 1 (very similar). 3.62 ratio diff is normally used when coupled to 6 speed box.
