    IVA Passed :)

Good news Andrew. Should be ok for a trip to Stoneleigh to show it off.
  2. Phil I managed to remove my bushes using a large socket, a nut and bolt and a steel drift. Hard to explain, but arranged so that the nut and bolt were pulling hard on the bush, then gave it a couple of whacks with a lump hammer which enabled the bolt to tighten a little further. Repeated a few times until bush fell out. Good luck with it.
  3. Phil Nylock will make no difference. Just tighten to recommended torque settings. How is it progressing?
  4. Quoting sforshaw: deserves a god home 😬 Stu. Sounds like heaven. Edited by - Paul Richards on 2 Apr 2014 09:36:01
  5. Can't help as I'm too far away, but may be advisable to let others know what engine it is for.
  6. Quoting Grant_7: Red/White - 12V when side lights are active (erm, what's the point of this? To add more lights?). Purple/Black - this is permanently at 12V so I assume wired directly to the battery Edited to say that the 12v feed when sidelights are on is simply to light the socket and other is 12v feed for socket. note to self - don't reply when pi$$ed. 7. I suspect it could be the lead for a 12v power socket. The wiring is normally around that area (Caterham fit the socket on rear bulkhead). If not used, wiring is usually under the boot floor. Give it a test with a meter or a bulb and a bit of wire. If 12 v power feed it will probably operate on first position of ignition key.
  8. No surprises. At BKG we've seen lots of newish and brand new cars with little or no grease in the front bearings.

    Steering lock

Quoting Jonnyonthewire: It's a fixed Momo steering wheel. Strange. For a removable wheel the column has no collar where the lock locates. A fixed wheel column normally has the collar. If you wanted to investigate further you would need to remove the column.

    Steering lock

Do you have a removable steering wheel. If so there will be no steering lock. Likely to be a lot of unconnected wires on a Caterham as the loom is not specific to the 7. I suspect the spade you have identified is one for the first click on the key i.e. on a "normal" car this brings on the radio without the ignition. Hope this helps and you enjoy the car and the club. 😬
  11. Don't worry Stu. It's being well looked after (currently with Jonathan) and there's only a minimal storage charge 😬
  12. Quoting AndrewB: I'm sure caterham plugging in a PC will solve it. Andrew So am I. See you on 14th.
  13. Quoting myothercarsa2cv: Quoting Paul Richards: Quoting myothercarsa2cv: Interesting, perhaps that was indeed the case. In which case, No need to cry. You probably have genuine RIF stuff. I have some sub standard RIF stuff and when Richard pointed out the flaw you need a microscope to see it 😬
  14. I too found Pumas are a size smaller in practice. If you don't sell, you could ask a shoe repairer to stretch them for you. Only cost me a couple of quid and worked OK.
  15. Quoting myothercarsa2cv: The 666 stuff was as good as RiF's I don't think so. 666 made very little as they didn't use the same techniques or machine as RIF. What they did do however was sell all RIFs old stock including those which RIF classed as substandard. I suspect you probably purchased some of those.
  16. Peter I think you'll find obtaining RIF nosecone and wings is unlikely. To my knowledge Richard only made a couple of nosecones and wings and some of them are on the pink car.
  17. Terry It really doesn't matter where the bleed nipple is in relation to the master cylinder. What does matter is that the fluid can be pumped into the slave cylinder and the outlet is at the top of the slave cylinder so that there is nowhere for air pockets to hide. If you see what I mean. I think you'll find that the master cylinder on brakes is also higher than the bleed nipples and they work OK. Please just make sure the master cylinder pushrod is getting full travel and you'll find it will pump fluid through. 😬 Good Luck Edited by - Paul Richards on 11 Mar 2014 20:56:31
  18. Quoting evotell: The internal slave cylinder on the Sigma has the bleed nipple below the cylinder. I don't think so. As far as I am aware the slave cylinder is around the input shaft in the middle of the bellhousing and the bleed valve is at the top of the bell housing. Terry Make sure you have plenty of travel on the brake pedal. You really need to push the master cylinder in to get it to pump fluid. Edited by - Paul Richards on 11 Mar 2014 20:32:09
  19. When I fitted my carbon dash I relocated the lights horizontally alongside the immobiliser light.
  20. Andrew On later cars it also acts as a handbrake warning light. Is the handbrake on when it lights up???
  21. Look like it will work OK. Are you bothered about the extra weight???????? 😬

    Oil pressure

Quoting SM25T: Mechanical gauge is easy to fit. Ian You obviously haven't tried on a Sigma. Sender is v. difficult to access.
  23. 5 litres, but you'll probably only get about 4.5 litres in depending how well it has emptied.
