  1. Ian Bypass mod made my car much easier to fill with coolant and no problems with air locks. Temperatures and behaviour are steady as they were previously.
  2. Have you not got insurance cover for a windscreen?
  3. Quoting Baz Hemsley: You could fit new ones but the new rear wings on mine are not as thick as the old ones. First decent blat and you are back to square one. Yes the new rear wings are as fragile as butterfly wings, so I glued camping mat to the underside of mine and it appears to stop further damage. LADS top tip
  4. Jonathan - you beat me to it. I am at Throckmorton and can bring it back for you if the deal goes ahead. If not, I may be interested.
  5. New wings. If they are self coloured cycle wings they are fairly inexpensive and probably more cost effective than repairs. Edited to say - Must type faster. Edited by - Paul Richards on 26 May 2014 22:44:49

    ESV on the M6

And the traffic was even worse on M40 and M25 Set off 11.15am and arrived at 5.05pm *mad*

    ESV on the M6

My second spotted in 18 months.

    Fuses blowing

Quoting SM25T: If it is the ECU fuse .... then there was a tech bulletin from CC to uprate it from 20A to 30A a few years ago. Not aware of a specific fuse for starter circuit ? Agreed.

    Bury

Funny you should say that. It was a pre MOT outing. Passed MOT today and brought it to me for a small job. It's done more miles than I thought - 1739 - 200 in last 12 months. What a waste.

Nick A rare sighting. It belongs to a non club member who lives down the road from me. Not much above 1,000 miles since new in 2009. 😳
  11. Quoting CaterBram: We'll be camping as normal. Chris Are you camping Friday and Saturday?
  12. I'm bringing the ESV down for the weekend and am undecided whether to try and find a B&B or to camp at the venue. Anyone else camping? What are facilities like?

    Carbon

Gilbos (as used for cutting sheet metal) are best for cutting carbon sheet. No dust. If necessary you can smooth edges with emery cloth, but as already said beware of dust. Edited to say:- Use a blunt drill for making holes. A sharp drill will cause splintering. Edited by - Paul Richards on 11 May 2014 16:38:19
  14. Quoting willmac: Hi Paul, Yes certainly interested. If not too much trouble a photo would be great and can then go from there cheers OK will do. Send me a PM so that I can send a picture to you.
  15. Can a VW LT35 van take part (it does have Lotus 7 Club written all over it if that helps). If not I'll have to pass.
  16. ECU - it's like a small computer. Like your PC it goes a bit wonky occasionally (for no obvious reason) and needs to be rebooted. It's probably a similar thing. Glad it's sorted - you missed a good day at Stoneleigh on Saturday. OR - it could just be a little damp/condensation in the wrong place. Edited by - Paul Richards on 6 May 2014 10:55:17
  17. I have a new 5.75 black headlamp in my garage somewhere. I think it is anSVC one. I'll dig it out and take a picture if you are interested.
  18. For some unknown reason I have found the 1.4 to be even more likely to have an air lock than larger capacity K series engines. Also more difficult to get rid of the airlock in a 1.4. It takes perseverance.

    IVA Passed :)

Good news Andrew. Should be ok for a trip to Stoneleigh to show it off.
  20. Phil I managed to remove my bushes using a large socket, a nut and bolt and a steel drift. Hard to explain, but arranged so that the nut and bolt were pulling hard on the bush, then gave it a couple of whacks with a lump hammer which enabled the bolt to tighten a little further. Repeated a few times until bush fell out. Good luck with it.
  21. Phil Nylock will make no difference. Just tighten to recommended torque settings. How is it progressing?
  22. Quoting sforshaw: deserves a god home 😬 Stu. Sounds like heaven. Edited by - Paul Richards on 2 Apr 2014 09:36:01
  23. Can't help as I'm too far away, but may be advisable to let others know what engine it is for.
  24. Quoting Grant_7: Red/White - 12V when side lights are active (erm, what's the point of this? To add more lights?). Purple/Black - this is permanently at 12V so I assume wired directly to the battery Edited to say that the 12v feed when sidelights are on is simply to light the socket and other is 12v feed for socket. note to self - don't reply when pi$$ed.
