  2. Spoke to Ansar Ali once and he told me that during his tenure production never reached 500 per annum.
  3. I found it best to connect to the ignition switch using the auxiliary terminal i.e. the one which is live on first click of the ignition key (normally used for radio). This gives the best of both worlds. Not live when ignition key removed, but can be used when stationary without full ignition on.
  4. Be careful as it's all too easy to split the rubber if you try to tap it on with a hammer. I use a bit of tube the same diameter as the metal part of the new rubber gaiter. I place them in a vice and gently squeeze on by tightening the vice. If you have a very large socket you may be able to use that. A little grease will also help. Good luck.

  6. Unfortunately there's not really enough room for the hammer and screwdriver trick. I've also found that if the filter is tight the screwdriver just rips the thin metal of the filter.
  7. John. Changed Paul's at RofR. What a job!! Peter did a lot of swearing which I think helped. It had been fitted with an extremely large filter that almost touched the side skin. Used a chain wrench from beneath but it was a 2 man job to get it over the extra long filter. Be careful however as there is a metal oil pipe adjacent which can be easily damaged. Good Luck.

  9. Not often I disagree with Oily, but the higher 3.62 diff is normal for the 6 speed and 3.92 for the 5 speed. The lower diff is an option on the 6 speed.
  10. Looks exactly like the one we have at the Busted Knuckle Garage and it works well. I think there are lots made in the same factory but just badged differently. A load leveller isn't essentia but is handy. If you don't use one, suspend the engine and gearbox from a point in the centre of the cam cover and the engine and gearbox will assume the correct angle. If you do use a leveller, make sure you put the winding handle at the gearbox end (as shown in John Vines pic)

  12. Are you serious??? If the management team referred every decision to the membership nothing would ever get done. There are directors of the club but it is the management team who make the decisions. Members can become part of the management team if they wish to be involved in the decision making process.
  13. Yes. As Ian has said above. Still a good mod to do even without a heater.
  14. Gavin If you are changing hoses consider doing the mod outlined in Low Flying some time ago. It involves taking the hose from the header tank to a T piece in the hose from the heater to the thermostat and blanking off the outlet in the metal pipe in the bottom hose. You'll need a longer hose to do this. Let me know if you need more info. You know how to get in touch.

  20. I used this It is much thinner than Caterham mats. I chose it mainly because Caterham mats don't fit lowered floors properly, but it is lighter and thinner and easier to fasten poppers to. I cut a paper template first and then cut the mat to suit. A very easy job. I also use it on boot floor. It is much better than carpet which gets wet and takes ages to dry. Also helps a little to stop things sliding around the boot.
