  1. I am fitting a new distributor cap and rotor arm to my k series engine and noted that the plastic plate (known as anti flash shield) under the cap has a small crack. I can't remember replacing it so it's probably 22 years old so I thought I'd replace it as it can't be that much. How wrong was I? HERE
    almost £50 *eek*

I think I'll stick with the current one unless someone has a new one lying around that they are happy to sell at a lower price. I'm sure someone could 3d print and make a killing.

  2. Looks like you need to pull the rubber not only down but towards the bank of the car. If the end protrudes into a visible area trim it off. That should improve things. A little clear silicon may also help to secure it. Good luck.

  3. Recommend fully synthetic 5w50 oil. Capacity with Apollo is 7 litres but doubtful you will be able to drain all of it. Suggest 6 or 6.5 litres and then top up as necessary.
Apollo tank can be difficult to drain as tank can be fragile and drain plug difficult to remove. I usually drain Apollo with an extraction pump.
Don't forget get you need to renew sump foam if you still have it, or better still scrap it and modify sump gasket.

  4. Seems very odd. I don't think lights or bulbs have changed. I can only think that there is a bad contact. Not surveillance you are able to dismantle but I'd clean the contacts and make sure there is enough pressure against the bulb.
