  1. T reg in blue passing the Stagg in Titley on Sunday Phil S7SVN
  2. Totally agree with Bricol, I used to get leaks 5yrs ago when it was new and did exactly the same. I've driven through some unbelievable French downpours, left it out overnight and it's never leaked. Just take your time doing it and get it right first time. Phil S7SVN
  3. 3rd dibs if Scooter and Julian decide otherwise

    K series thermostat

Jono, FWIW I've put an 82 stat in my 1.8 and the temp remains very stable at around 80c on the move. Injectors all wrapped up ready BTW. Phil S7SVN
  5. Try www.eliseparts.com they supply all gaskets seals for the K seperately if needed and very quick delivery, ie next morning phil
  6. I've always taken the blue plate off, you can then check the gauze filter on the feed pipe as well. To reseal I've made a template for a gasket which I smear with Loctite 574. Never had a single drip in 3yrs/ 15k. Phil S7SVN
  7. A44 across Radnor Forest to Crossgates then to Llandod, Builth and back to the A44 is my regular blat 😬 😬 😬 all the way Phil
  8. 20!! didn't hear you, only live 400yds from the A44 but it is in a village 40 limit and all that. Up round the Elan Valley dams and across to Aber by any chance Phil S7SVN

  13. Well this is unreal. After your 1st spotted in 4yrs Sue saw you yet again yesterday but this time it was about 500mtrs further along passed the Storey arms. After taking her Elise to Stratones in Cardiff she stopped off for a cuppa and along you came. Big question now is...........how long before spotted no3. Hopefully catch up with you on the Fish n' Chip run. Phil S7SVN Just seen the other posting, so how long before spotted no4!! Edited by - prs on 27 Mar 2007 09:23:25

    185 on 7"?

I've checked through the tyre fitting specs and apparently a 185 will go onto a 6.5" rim. Has anybody fitted a 185 Toyo R888 to a 7" rim successfully. Considering some Rial split rim wheels but these are only avaiable as 7"x13" and Toyo only do the R888 in a 185 or 205, don't really want to put a 205 on the front as I'm probably going to get tramlining issues. Phil S7SVN
  16. I always thought the liners should stand 4-5thou proud dry. You then apply a 2mm bead of blue Hylomar to the step and insert the liner. Phil S7SVN
  17. I would change the belt every 4 yrs regardless of the mileage done. If the car is left standing then they can begin to perish. At £35ish for a belt its far cheaper than bent valves............. Phil S7SVN
  18. The closer ratios of the 6 speeder will allow you keep the engine revving in the sweet zone, this in turn will give you lots of 😬 😬 😬 and hopefully a Phil S7SVN
  19. Great route for a 1st blat phil
  20. I used RJ Bradley about 2yrs ago to map my 200BHP K series and they did a great job. Phil S7SVN
  21. Genuine Lotus discs are £100 each , EBC on ebay are about £130 a pair. Make sure he gets S1 as S2 are different. Correct size is 282.5mmdiam and 26mm thick, service limit is 24.9mm. I'm just about to change all 4 on SWBO'S S1. Car has covered 40k without any issue of warping, how's he done that? check wheel bearings and balljoints as these could have play inducing wobble under braking. Phil S7SVN
  22. Well not by me but Sue had stopped to have lunch yesterday at the Storey Arms and whilst munching away along comes a 7. Think you turned around at Libanus and came back. Phil
  23. I gave up using loctite 574 as the mating surfaces weren't good enough. For the last 2yrs i've used a cut down version of the wet sump gasket, no leaks
  24. You can avoid any possibility of an airlock by drilling a tiny hole in the stat Phil S7SVN
  25. Being a shorty i was able to mount mine direct to the scuttle behind the steering wheel and i drilled a small hole right up against the screen to feed the cable, looks fine. Phil S7SVN
