  1. V7, where do I run the wire to from pin 12, there's several wires at the back of the tacho, as you can tell I hate wiring!! give me a spanner anytime. Phil
  2. Can anybody shed light on this one. I've just changed to a wasted spark setup using a Sagem/Valeo twin coil pack with an Emerald. I ran the extra wire from terminal 5 and everything is fine, engine runs ok, however my rev counter is now reading half what it should do, i've been through the manual but can't see anything obvious - any ideas. CRB pre-load K series

Dave CC told me they have been using this new type for about 3-4 months, when did you order yours. I assume the one you fitted had the metal clips with a lug that locates on the lever. The new one is all plastic at the back with plastic lugs as well Phil
  9. I've just had a new CRB from CC and they have changed the manufacturer. The old bearing had F-202994 made in Brazil and the new one has FRA174C Made in France. The new one doesn't fit the lever arm quite so securely as the old one but I'm sure it'll be ok. I've got a Caterham DS if this makes any difference. I was going to modify the pedal box and do the two spring setup to increase the preload as shown in LF, so my question is this is it still ok to do this with the new style bearing. I will contact CC but thought I would enquire to see if anybody else has done it. Phil S7SVN
  10. had this problem on mine, used to go from 1st to 3rd when cold. Changed to Redline MTL and its now perfect, changes into 2nd when cold no problem and generally it feels more positive changing gear. You will need 2 quarts. Phil S7SVN
  11. The best stuff to use and this is what Dave Andrews uses is LOCTITE 574. Phil S7SVN
  12. Dave, would be interested in one of your DS drainage plates with the integral bolt, do I contact you?. Sorry about the highjack. Phil S7SVN
  13. Thanks Stuart, is it not necessary to allow any kind of engine breathing then, my wet sump used to have a feed from the cam cover to the air filter backplate, the other one was blocked off. Phil S7SVN
  14. I'm about to drop in a K1.8 with a VVC head giving 200BHP with the Caterham dry sump system. I've got a 1 litre alloy catchtank which will be sighted on the top cruciform where the apollo normally goes (cannot fit on the bulkhead as the twin coil wasted spark will be going in front of the heater). What options for breathing have I got, can I 1.run a feed from the DS tower to the cam cover then take another feed out from the cam cover to the catchtank? 2. run a feed from the DS tower direct to the catchtank and also a feed from the cam cover and block the other cam cover vent off? 3. as 2 but instead of blocking of the remaining vent run it into the filter backplate? any advice greatly appreciated as I would like to order up the necessary lengths of pipe etc. Phil S7SVN
  15. Somebody must want this, best part of a thousand from CC Phil

    To T-Cut or not ?

Not a lot of paint to play with, I would use a REALLY wet rag with the t-cut and don't press too hard, is it metallic or flat colour paint? Phil S7SVN

  20. I need the complete plastic cambelt cover, that's the back section top and bottom and the front cover. Can anybody help. Phil S7SVN
  21. Agree with Dave, if you've got a clamp then ok otherwise I would'nt risk it. Easier just to take them out and reseal surely, it's not a difficult process and at least you would then know that all is well. Phil S7SVN
