I would have thought that the governing factor on frt height was your manifold / collector. I've a 7" silencer and not problems. Might be worth comparing yours to other people's at a club evening etc and also your front ride height (should be around 140mm from under the engine mount points to the ground) before doing anything too radical.
You can get past the whole lid sticking issue if you sandwich a plastic bag between the lid and the pot but I agree that the small pots idea is sound. then gloves gloves gloves
Friend had an RK 155 spec 1700 engine and it opened its thermostat to the oil cooler fully once on track. I don't believe it opened at all on the road.
Oddessy extreme is a powervamp. Pretty sure it's what I have although they have changed the name since I bought mine. I can't say why but my recollection is of excellent service from powervamp and no probs I cna recall with the battery to date (couple of years). I'd buy another.
Car and car conversions (or whatever they call themselves these days) are doing a supercharged crossflow as a monthly feature at the moment. Worth reading that to see how it goes I would think.
Sorry to deviate but I was looking at the remote filter option as I always have a 'mare getting my old filters off. Do you have any pics and sourcing details?
Tip 1, take it easy
Tip 2, ignore all those who aren't taking it easy
Tip 3, if the downpour gets bad, get off the track
Tip 4, make sure your tyres are the same (treadwise) front to back

Dependent on how old your seven is you can fit the newer bottom spacer for your uprights, it's a little taller so it does what you are looking for re the angle of the wishbones relativfe to each other and it costs peanuts, this might be the right thing (there are a few variants I think)
