  1. If you know what car to get them off, type in "sniffy dog" as a search and you get a website where all the reputable breakers yards will respond to your every query on getting parts and even post them to you, no further work. I got a set of 4 injectors for £65 but they weren't the ones you used. Mine are from a Yr 2000 Mondeo Nigel Mills - 2.0 Zetec carbs soon to be EFi'd

Could be using the upper pick up point rather than the lower on the trailing arms. Easy enough to check Nigel Mills - 2.0 Zetec carbs soon to be EFi'd
  5. I can't find the linkage on Dave's site - any chance you could be more specific about where to find it? I've the same issue at the mo Nigel Mills - 2.0 Zetec carbs soon to be EFi'd

    Carbs to Zetec

If you're patient I have some I'll be selling shortly with 3 d ignition too (Dunnel box) as I'm going over to EFI. The carbs are off the car already but I still need time to get the ECU off it. Nigel Mills - 2.0 Zetec carbs soon to be EFi'd
  7. Thermostat - you should be running a 73 degree version, try the local Ford dealer for one. The engine then runs cooler generally. If you're running at 80 odd then it's a small leap for an XF to reach 100 degs. 2. Mine always stopped near 100 degs but never exceeded it. Have you checked the antifreeze level (its a summer coolant too you know), the overflow allows fluid out but not back in so keep an eye on the fluid levels esp after hot days. 3.They all do that sir 4.See (3), carry a new clutch cable in your toolkit they last ok but not for ever. When you get the new one compare it to the old before storing it because you almost always end up with the wrong cable esp if ordering from Caterham (try James Whiting or Chris Wheeler for the best chance). I wouldn't lubricate anything here - it's likely to encourage dirt to accumulate. 5.You need almost no tools for the rocker cover gasket. New gasket, the cover is removed by undoing the screw you can see when you look at the cover. Oil the cover before installing it for best seal - you could use a sealant on one side only too if you fancy getting really carried away but accept the presence of oil See (3). 8. Believe it or not the OEMs generally wrap the offending area in fuzzy felt (self adhesive). Work your own solution out we used to buy ours from Japan so I don't have a supplier Nigel Mills - 2.0 Zetec carbs soon to be EFi'd

  12. I got mine shot blasted, then phosphate coated, then painted with automotive under bonnet paint (satin finish) which looks just like the original powder coat can't tell it apart. 5 years later on it still looks fine, no chips Nigel Mills - 2.0 Zetec carbs

  14. Thanks but where do I get them from and what are they fitted on - I have to do this on a tight budget so I'm looking for some donor cars for picos by the sounds of it. I have 165 brake at the moment and aim for 220 ish eventually. I'd like the injectors to be able to cope with this power range for future proofing me! Can anyone suggest donor cars for picos? 15. I had wondered whether there was an optimum spray pattern. One route I'd considered was to find a scrap sierra cosworth and use those injectors but I wondered whether recent technology had moved on a bit since the sierra days and provided more reliable / efficient injectors. E.g. do injectors off a Honda S2000 (220 brake normally aspirated) have a more suitable spray pattern for normally aspirated than those off a turbo car? Nigel Mills - 2.0 Zetec carbs
  16. What was the conclusion of this thread? What injectors did you use and where was the cheapest place to buy? I need some injectors myself. Nigel Mills - 2.0 Zetec carbs

  25. Not to confuse the issue but it is possible that your dampers aren't the right ones for the car. Different damprs (same valving) are made for live axle than de dion. at the front they'll fit but the rings that are machined in the damper are in different places Nigel Mills - 2.0 Zetec carbs
