  1. 2.0 litre 98 zetec ~(mondeo). I'm planning on timing in these cams using lift at TDC. I don't suppose anyone has found using numbers other than those specified by Kent work any better? Specifically Inlet 2.03mm Exhaust 2.26mm
  2. I got recommended to fit a spacer (which I have not yet fitted) by Freestyle when I asked them what would be my next sensible upgrade. As such I'm pretty sure it is not standard fit for a 1992 car and it was added in later years. I would offer that it probably came with 96 suspension
  3. http://www.swarfega.co.uk/ukswarfega/ They do a driveway cleaner product. Not used it myself but I'm tempted, mine sees a Tractor parked on it oince a year and there are three oily stains as a result. Makes it look like my cars leak!
  4. When using POR15 chassis coat black when it says to stir the tin it really means "There will be 6" of gunk in the bottom of the tin that needs lifting into the main body of the paint for it to be any cop". The POR 15 base layer did not have this, stirring it seemed to do very little. I only found out about the CCBlack after trying a few coats unsuccessfully. If in doubt read and use the instructions! Doh
  5. Reason is that the bushes' internal collar is nipped up when you torque up the bolts. If the suspension was (naturally) at full droop with the car in the air, then as the suspension assumes its natural position on the ground the bushes will need to twist though more than their expected range of movement. Unhappy bushes. Torque them up once the car is on the ground.
  6. It's the second one down in black pvc as shown One set only. Never used, still in box including user guide. £15 inc P&P NOW SOLD Edited by - millsn on 29 Jul 2007 12:59:45 Edited by - millsn on 29 Jul 2007 15:46:18 Edited by - millsn on 31 Jul 2007 08:41:57 Edited by - millsn on 31 Jul 2007 08:43:07
  7. Mine had play in it that surfaced very recently. Once I got the wishbone off it was clear that the bushes were shot too. As such I have embarked upon replacing the lot and repainting the wishbones which have done >30K. My car is 15 years old now after all.
  8. BTT, will go to autotrader shortly
  9. CLicky doesn't seem to lead anywhere. How do you ensure that each port is opened out the same? Seems it must be easy to pinch rather more than you intended. Do you scribe a certain diameter on the outside of the port and aim for another inside perhaps using a no go gauge or is it a good idea to put it on a mill at some stage for the initial bore? I'm sure these are fairly daft questions when you know the answers
  10. An activity I plan to conduct shortly. 1) Any advice? 2) Can I use an electric die grinder, do you use stones with it or is there some other method? 3) Any good books on the subject? Nigel Mills - 2.0 zetec
  11. Being in the pricess of the same activity I would now recommend to anyone doing this not to bother tyring to drive out the balljoint unti lthey've left it for a day with 3 in 1 oil on. Thing suddenly become very easy once this is done. I also tried WD40 which had nothing like the same effect.
  12. Just to ask the daft one but you do have your heater valve open don't you? The heater loop will capture a raft of air which will want purging at the same time as the expected water loop does
  13. I was checking, all clear now

  15. £250 the pair ono. Both in good condition, sliding runners allow fore/aft adjustment, comfy, but too high for my desired driving position. Trying to fins somewhere to post pictures to having not done it before.
