  1. thankls Andy I'll bear it in mind. Does that mean one 2 piece clamp? Could save me a few quid, what do you want for it?
  2. Anyone have a set of these for the later steering racks? clamp pic Nigel Mills - 2.0 zetec

ps get a Raceline or Dunnell sump and you don't need a dry sump. Indeed I have tgried to get one before and can find no one to sell me one because the sumps all work

You can convert using all the bits you have bar the exhaust manifold, but you'll need 3d ignition as a minimum I think. If you have the budget I would go with TBs. If not keep your 45s bearing in mind that many people (including myself) have had issues getting the fuelling right for a zetec on progression (snap throttle) and also on idle. Recent personal experience would suggest that there may be some benefit (if you fancy trying it) in modifying your carbs to accept fuel injection rather than going to TBs esp as otherwise going to TBs was expensive. If you do go to TBs consider you need an ECU and think about who you'll get to map it for you. If you're nearer Ipswich than London you might wish to get Emerald and use Dave Walker. If not you're off to see Steve Greenald near Rainham, London. Also take advice on which fuel regulator to get, which fuel pump and injector combo for the power you're aiming at too. Bear in mind that the zetec won't have that frantic urge of the XF, which can be disappointing until you install some hotter cams, then things get a bit more spicy, but as standard it's undeniably faster than alightly modded XF. You may need a new fuel pump whichever way you go and yes you will need to consider corrosion more often than before. Hope that helps;bet I remember something else once I press send.
  6. tyrone, I've been trying to contact you by email but no joy. Could you blatmail me and we'll sort something out?
  7. Anyone got one available, mine died a horrible death? Nigel Mills - 2.0 zetec
  8. just to confirm, you don't need adj platforms to be able to move the platform position on the damper. Std platforms will also move from one groove to another
  9. It is possible to move the spring platforms by relocating the circlip into anothe rgroove exactly as you describe. You would need to have a groove above the groove you're currently using. Be aware that there are different dampers available that look outwardly similar but have differently positioned grooves. I fitted live axle dampers to my dedion with M0 spec once. The front end was great but the back couldn't keep up. However, I had to machine a new groove (Caterham did this for me) far higher up the body. It is possible that yo uhave the wrong dampers fitted (worse possible case) which don't have the right groove position for your car. Bet you can just use a different groove though. Unfortunatley the groove is probablhy obscured by your spring platform so you may need to remove the damper from the car or otherwise compress thte spring to find if you have a groove available :)
  10. Converting to cycle wings, I need some bits: cycle wing stays (13") cycle wings (13") 8% rack Also need a replacement LH rear wing (I rather bent mine up). Ideally green but will take any colour Nigel Mills - 2.0 zetec Edited by - millsn on 17 Oct 2007 17:42:59 Edited by - millsn on 17 Oct 2007 17:43:12 Edited by - millsn on 17 Oct 2007 18:39:24
  11. SO to what power level will a Rover 220 turbo fuel pump get you versus an R500 caterham 'uprated' version?
  12. I'd be interested to know the cost of the bits once you know. Similar dilemma, different engine
  13. MAK, what is the car she's driving and how is it identified on the rear? e.g. TDI where TDI is silver. The reason for asking is that the non PD engine is about £1000 cheaper to run on vegetable oil (which is my plan) for which I need to source a long distance car e.g. Passat / Octavia / Golf maybe
  14. Does anyone know which was the last diesel car that VW made before the PD engines went on sale?

    Water hoses

Where's a good place to get water hoses from, preferably in red? I'm after reducers especially Nigel Mills - 2.0 zetec
  16. The housing itself is split, i think because the sender isn't the right thread
  17. I have always used my old XF water temp sender (and always had a small leak with it coupled to the Ford thermostat housing). Is anyone out there able to advise which sender is compatible with both the oE thermostat housing and the VDO instruments? Nigel Mills - 2.0 zetec
  18. the mounts do get soggy over time, esp the one under the carbs

    Zetec airbox?

Once your zetec is all properly noised up with a ported head and standard exhaust, what is neccesary to make it quieter? Is an airbox required? I have knackered backplates on my K and Ns and need a fix of some sort. I could replace them with something quieter, fix them (maybe) or replace like for like. Any advice which route works?
  20. Having had a similar problem recently I was going to say the same thing about the rear access to that bolt but also to add that I found WD not as good as 3 in 1 at penetrating a joint.
  21. It would certainly save alot of hassle if I could just drive the car down; I must confess I'm a little short of confidence in doing so though
  22. Does anyone have any advice? My car is on throttle bodies using MBE ECU and it is getting a ported cylinder head. i am travelling from Peterborough to London for the mapping and going to Spa the next day! If I trailer I will be borrowing it and either doing two trips then going to Belgium or leaving someone elses trailer somewhere strange, if I drive I run the risk of the mixture being too lean. I think I need the use of a lambda sensor to put enough fuel in to ensure safety (if at the expense of the environment) for the trip to London. Is there somewhere that might help me test the air/fuel ration at different rpm? Anyone nearby have one maybe? Nigel Mills - 2.0 zetec
