  1. my loom is all out of the car at the mo. Therefore any good suggestions are welcome. I've alot of tidying uyp to do as the car was a XF is now a zetec and the routing to the alternator (now on a different side) and the ECU all wants reassessing to tidy up. My 'fusebox' is a modular affair that I'm not happy with, holds relays etc. IU suspect there is a far better solution available.
  2. Clean the filters witht a brush (they'll be caked esp at the front), I don't think there's anythiong else to do then but re-oil. Then you have to wait for them to dry off. The filter oil aerosol can has instructions on it if I recall correctly.
  3. Bet your wife is in a good mood though 😶‍🌫️
  4. i've a fairly unsatisfactory way of mounting my relays/fuses etc. Peter, how did you get round this one? IS that what we're looking at in the first picture, is it solid state or something and is there a webwsite where that kit is described? PS Reckon there ought to be a new 'smily' showing bonfires being put out by urination
  5. When did he last check the oiling of his filters? Sounds to me like they are 'dry' or the water wouldn't get in in the first place?
  6. Must say that mine sounded like tthe proverbial bag o' nails pre oil change and with new oil it's much happier. Indeed the vanos seems to work on new oil but not on old. i nolnw run with 5W 40 rather than the -30 I suspect the dealer puts in and the car's much happier. Must say i am not a great believer in LL oils
  7. I thiknm the position has gone up and down like the proverbial drawers. Don't believe it has ever made a performance difference though. Different A frames to suit
  8. aah, mine are fitted now though. Very nice it is too. Problem is they are the only thing that is. Still waiting turret braces and ARB bits and the rest of the car's in bits Edited by - millsn on 28 Dec 2007 09:09:19

  11. I know someone who did just this through classic cariage and the answer is yes
  12. I actually like the repeaters I have had on the flared wings which reminded me to switch the indicatoprs off at times
  13. Charge the battery? Tyre pressures check for mice?
  14. Hello again Mark, LHS required. Don't suppose you have a barnfull of them?
  15. New ones are £106!! Each !! Can I get them 2nd hand anywhere, thought they were from a Triumph?
  16. curses. Does Caterham's large wheelbearing front require new uprights? I can feel another upgrade coming on.
  17. Lastly, The stud that pokes out the bottom of my front suspension upright is bent. Can it be replaced whilst keeping the upright or does this require a whole new upright? Nigel Mills - 2.0 zetec
  18. Can anyone advise whether they had issues with the lengths the instructions advise using actually fitting? Secondly, Which of the inserts that position the rod eyes go at the top and which at the bottom. I have 4 off equal width inserts and 4 off unequal length. NO idea where any of them go. I have the unequal length ones at the bottom of the damper now but when you twist the damper it can still hit the rocker which doesn't seem right. Nigel Mills - 2.0 zetec
  19. third that, use 3 in 1 or similar. You'll be surprised how much better than wd it is
  20. sorry, thought you were talking about the lower wishbone ones. I can only suggest keeping at it with the 3 in 1. Edited by - millsn on 18 Dec 2007 22:03:29

    Rivnut expansion

I'm not convinced it needs to close the gap up. As long as you can stop it spinning until it bears down on the mating parts that you are bolting to the riv nut it should flare out enough to prevent pullout. The torque out is limited by the friction between the surface of the part you are bolting to it, not the grip to the parent (skin panel) material
