  1. Can ayone link me to a picture of the latest method for lighting the rear plate? Mine is a black unit that points down toward the plate but I read in the latest caterham manual that these days the light points upward and is mounted from the chassis if you've a car withoutt the wheel carrier fitted. might be interested in fitting this myself.
  2. Does anyone have a good suggestion how this is achieved? I'm having quite a job. Calipers are off the car, cables are off the car
  3. thanks for the feedback. What do you do tot make the panel fit? Does it need a cutout or is it just a case of rivet the thing down and smile?
  4. Staples plus epoxy. you will need to flame the surface beforehand though ~(increases the surface energy of the PP which is otherwise very low).
  5. This just doesn't look right. Can anyone tell me whether it is one way or another? Should the lines go under the final cross member or over? Edited by - millsn on 17 Feb 2008 18:12:17 Edited by - millsn on 17 Feb 2008 18:13:23 Edited by - millsn on 20 Feb 2008 18:41:58
  6. if not, fairy liquid + water mixture usually does the trick
  7. look for the recent bulk buy thread. i recall the chap saying he had a few left over
  8. Would have thought it was more likely that your rubber bushes were old, then the bar itself rattles in the bushes (the bushes are like green cotton reels).
  9. foam seats covered don't work out as expensive as GRP tillets from Caterham (for reference). I would start at Oxted. With the foam seat there is a temptation to sit too low (which I did) which ruins comfort over very long distances. I think there is a knack to getting the sitting position just right as you can sit pretty much anywhere at any angle before you pour the foam in. Does anywhere do foam seats as service post Hyperion?
  10. Apologies to Roger for the tease/abuse but does anyone else think it's about time Roger King put his thoughts to paper? possibly on the BD
  11. previous post now edited. IF it doesn't make sense now i'm unable to get there in writing. By all means pm me and I'll explain over the phone Edited by - millsn on 1 Feb 2008 16:37:03
  12. Thought i'd explained the combo but it does seem a little unclear now I re-read it. ok, made a mess of thids: The odd size ones all go in one of the shocks only. You will find that there are 8 off. 4 off at one size, and 2 off wide + 2 off narrow. The 4 off go one side, say RHS, of the car and the other set 2 wide and 2 narrow go either side of the (possibly) LHS damper mounts. The idea is that the spring gets closer to one of the diagonals than the other so one damper is spaced slightly forward of the other. This is a change recently added to the system based upon feedback from some customers. phone Gary by all means but he wasn't able to tell me which side took ther offset spacers so you do need to work it out for yourself. 13. on side only uses the spacers. try and work out whichi side it is I haven't done it the right way yet. you use all of them on one side of the car. not sure which side though
  14. tyres on the ground though, being a good thing :)
  15. There is an ARB option available. It runs off the rockers
  16. what's that funny throttle switch thingy in your pic? (he spies the unusual)
  17. I asked Eibach this on a stand once and whilst the couldn't explain the details apparently it was tgried and didn't work on the front. this though was on the otherwise standard suspension. Perhaps on pushrod it might
  18. Not convinced you are right about the zf being unavailable. Try road and race transmissions to check. They are hard to come by though i think. Reports suggest that the zf is more agressive and it will certainly lock both wheels when provoked-but then that's why I wanted it and it's no problem. I've had no issues at all
  19. thats's it. Wonder why it goes through the slot?
  20. I'd second the manifold sealing problems. Could be inlet too, can also be the weld itself failing on the exhaust manifold flange where it attaches to the head
  21. Can anyone recall how these run out of the tunnel, into the rear suspension area? There is a small opening at the rear of the tunnel that is oblong, about 150mm x 10mm. Do the line s emerge from the tunnel via this opening or just follow the tunnel until they're in fresh air much as the propshaft does? Edited by - millsn on 20 Jan 2008 21:57:41
  22. got mine from r and r who just recommended oil for an LSD from Ford. Sttrange they should differ (sorry for the unintended pun)
  23. What's the RTV stand for?
