  1. rs15s are grey, you've got the wrong ones but they were an alternative suggested to me when deciding whether to go to rs15s so not the worst thing in the world. I have them on my beemer- they're not supposed to be as extreme as rs15s but theyr'e a fast road pad I think

    Glue/Mastic

Fyi having done extensive tests on sikaflex they will fail before the fibreglass does if exclusively in shear. Plexus products for example would not. Not certain if this is an advantage or not. E.g would you really want the wing destroyed at the joint in the event of an accident. Do oyou really need to have a little piece of fibreglass bonded to the stay if the rest of the wing is damaged by bending? i would say that somewhere it ise best to join the wing with a weak area to the stay so that one or other remains serviceable inthe event of an accident. I plan to joint the wings to bigheads and tiewrap them onto the stays which i hope will do the trick.

    Hand brake

i think the button on the end is screw on. Replace the spring by unscrewing the button. no fun getting the handle off to do othis but it might be possible without removing the handle
  4. zcams only gives about 180 hp by my reckoning (although this is a seat of pants judgement). this is what i started with as myh first mod. cams + head is about 200hp. Cams only makes trhe engine much more interesting and fuellling definately needs adjusting to cope
  5. as i said, all depends what you're after
  6. all depends what you're after. a hot Xf is alot of fun. a stock zetec is dull... (await hurled abuse from other owners). a hot zetec is a much better bet, fit cams alone to one and things improve lots. The zetec is the more driveable carbs or no. handling is slightly better with the xf I would say but there's not much in it. If you want to go faster and have an upgrade path to 220 and beyond then there's not much choice. might also be wortht considering duratec though if power's the goal. i do kind of miss the xf noise and gutteral bark. i don't miss the regular oil checks, carb balancing, poor fuel consumption and general feeling it may let go before long though. 7. I would say that an issue worth considering is whose installation gives you the best setback in the car. I believe that my zetec could be positioned further back in the car given a narrower bellhousing and the right mounts. Might be worth asking raceline whether there are options here and whether there is a best bellhousing to use. Edited by - millsn on 11 Mar 2008 19:53:53

    Minister-Power

ratrace are advertising some sort of upgrade path.
  9. Can't resist.. "Dodgy solenoid?" Have you checked the you're power is switching on to the solenoid and the condition of your earth leads to the engine / bellhousing / battery?
  10. the alternative is to run a VX and thern you've got that much extra weight up front all the time
  11. I've been using Redline lots recently. fast, curteous and the parts you get fit (which is nice) 🥰

    fuel filter

does help, yes thanks. Sounds like mine then but I put tmine on when i went zetec. Just seems strange to me that two nuts or boltheads should stick out of the drivers side rr bulkhead like that

    fuel filter

How are people's fuel filters mounted to the rear bulkhead? In the past I've just nut and bolted mine. What's the std Caterham system look like, is it using riv nuts?
  14. Surprising how quickly you can turn up somethgin that will suit. Bizarrely though my local motor factor claims they cannot source the seal kit linked to here ebay
  15. this seems to be a brake pad part number acc to the site.
  16. The piston seal on my rear brake has failed so I need a new seal. I'm trying to avoid that painful, what car is it from? / it's not, I don;t know etc syndrome typically associatted wit this experience. can anyone advise the above info please? Nigel Mills - 2.0 zetec
  17. I would have thought that full soft on these required the hole furthest from the fulcrum. The nearest one would result in less twisting of the ARB
  18. don't think i'm not having the same problem, fancy going all in together? someday
  19. Buy from the US. Very cheap; rods pistons Edited by - millsn on 27 Feb 2008 18:06:15
  20. Take care to spec the new tube with the right mounts for your dampers though. if the mounts are at a different height you'll run out of droop
  21. If you do find a solution I'm interested. i never got one and mine still dies at about 4500rpm. same enginer, same eCU
  22. great service chaps as ever, thanks
  23. looks like the bracket might do the trick. thanks chaps
