  1. I'd also spec a connection for a 12V cigar lighter socket (fused) that you can then use to do other things like charge the satnav and also the car battery. You may want to consider whether you want a new fangled LCD style dash too which almost certainly requires a different approach
  2. I'd have thought not. The camber on the rear will be quite different to that on the front and thwe tyres will be well worn in to that angle. Knowing what the weathier can do at Le Mans I'd replace all of the tyres just for the tread depth. It's pretty miserable when it rains all day on the way down (some people reading this may recall that trip)!
  3. I had the same problem on my dedion once. they are made in two widths. Return the bits and get the right ones sent to you. Recommend you use Redline for this sort of job.
  4. Contact Polevolt, pretty sure they'd do you a loom. Every dealing I've had has been positive
  5. NB, if it's old Caterham standard kit it's much more likely to be a braze than a weld. I'd return to Arch and ask there
  6. Apologies if everyone already knows this but I think there's some interesting kit on there quite cheaply. here
  7. I have a pair, YHM BTW I now see that you're in dorset :) Edited by - millsn on 25 May 2009 09:44:52
  8. I've got one. It's a right pain to fit. Neat though. I suspect (like many things Gary tells me) it's not required for the road and even for the track unless you're racing. I'v enot yet taken mine off to find out
  9. I too can testify that you can do this using the dinitrol from Frosts through rivet holes.
  10. Byker will, make me an offer, I don't need them Dave B: Not entirely sureIy understand the question but no the platforms aren't seized Edited by - millsn on 16 May 2009 17:44:46
  11. I ran 021s on the front and 0482 on the rear. Was wuite nice in the dry. Then at Spa in the wet the front cut through a little river on the track , the rear didn't, lifted up and put me in the wall. Very cheesed off, all my fault but tyres were the cause. I woudlnt recommend that combination to others (ie variable tread depth and coverage)
  12. Having speed read something recently on what used to be cars and car conversions Mr Walker gives them some credence. It seems that any one engine/manifold/cam/exhaust manifold combo is unlikely to be the same as another. Therefore it is often beneficial to be able to swing the cam timing on the rolling road to allow for this. The cam manufacturers are unlikely to have been able to predict what your exact installation was going to look like so they make an estimate of what should work well when they spec the timing. what your own engine sees is unlikely to be what they predicted and you may well benefit from subtely changing the timing accordingly. Or something like that. I'm going to watch some telly now and have a lie down. Edited by - millsn on 16 May 2009 08:59:43
  13. Sorry to all but I'd stoppeed watching this post and didn't set it to deliver an email either. Byker will - front billies plus springs + platforms £100 David - Suspension bits are all from a circa 94 chassis car (mine's always been a bit of an enigma for some reason) as far as lengths go, not sure about the M0 rears though bu tthey do fit. Theyr'e for the centre mount de dion fitment. As for the VDO, you should be able see the condition now but its very good (no damage) but it is from 1992-4 era so I can't exactly call it "as new"! Say £40? Edited by - millsn on 14 May 2009 19:13:27
  14. Just toying with the idea, does anyone have one and if so how much do you want for it? NM

    Speedy Cables

They checked out my rev counter, told me there was nothing wrong with it and told me how to fix my problem too. Great service
  16. Ask them nicely, take it to Arch and get them replaced there. Or buy a new a frame
  17. they can be a little hard to find so I suspect someone's been a bit naughty and not bothered. Call R&R and get a replacement and fit a small piece of black rubber tube to it.
  18. ok, 5 p worth coming up. Could be anywhere if it's a bad earth. Try wiggling the connectors at the rr of the alternator, does anything fall off? Don't do this whilst it's running. If its over say 5 years old my experience is the thing will need replacing, that's the rate I seem to get through mine. check your battery health, is it running 13.?V when running and 12 or more when not. Any issues with starting? Your alt may be on the way out. Have you made anhy mods recently, typically it's user error.
  19. Redline are your other (and rather obvious) option, outstanding service and parts identification, no doubt you could send your picture pluys a discussion and get the right thing first time
  20. My clutch went i.e. I couldn't select gears, they became unselectable one by one. The problem became ratherr obvious on disassembly; all the springs fell out of the clutch!
