  1. As MOCA2CV says how do you get in touch with someone who has no email address on his website I wanted to see if he would make a batch of carbon headlights. Nick
  2. clive If you find the airbox does not suit I will buy it from you as a spare. Nick
  3. Sorry, won't fit mine. BTTT Still for sale. I have Arnie's top joints and they are superb so if you have a narrow track converted to wide rack then I would recommend you buy these.
  4. My Blackbird was fitted with standard caterham brakes - Ford M16 calipers. James Whiting did not build any Blackbirds just the Fireblades. I fitted a HiSpec Ultralite 4 Caterham kit that bolts straight onto the standard 232mm disc set up, no mods required. Weight per caliper 0.9KG. Price £250.00 + VAT including new discs, pads, hoses and 5.1 fluid. They work fine. Nick
  5. Never had a fuse blow in my Caterhams, waste of money IMHO. Carry a bag with some spares in, EBay do about 60 fuses for £2.99. Nick
  6. As far as I am aware the R500 has the same rear brakes as all other Caterham models, Ford Sierra single pot ones. Would recommend upgrading to the flexible brake lines across the de dion rather than the rigid ones, although check this does not affect IVA. Nick
  7. What is the point of a website with no contact info 🤔 Would be interested in a bulk buy if someone has his contact details. Mog Racing ones are seriously expensive . They do look difficult to make though. Nick
  8. Links should(hopefully) be ok now. Nick
  9. Friend of mine made me these. Adjustable tilt. here & here Can quickly be adjusted in minutes. Nick
  10. What about fitting a battery and a motor mover that are fitted to caravans 🤔 Nick
  11. 1. You won't need it as you will have carbon wings plus it adds unwanted weight. 2. Keep the nose and wings bare carbon so no armour fend required. Just get the sides done. Nick
  12. Dizz built a R500 SV a while back and Nigel Pugh built one although he had problems connecting his dry sump and the engine failed I believe. This may be the one he was referring to 🤔 both these builders were experienced in building Caterhams. Not sure why a R400 with a dry sump would be any different to building a R500 or for that matter an R300 with a dry sump. Good luck, take your time and don't turn the engine over without someone checking your work who has experience as having signed the disclaimer you could end up with a large bill if the engine fails due to incorrect installation - I am sure it will be fine though. Nick
  13. Is that the same as saying "Wanted rocking Horse Poo" 😬
  14. Ben Will take a look in my garage tonight, may have a spare black one, not sure. Take it you are back with a 7 now, have you sold the Atom then? Nick
  15. John There is a difference. I think if you are running throttle bodies you need the injection head. Nick
  16. Simon Interested in the rear wing, is it a cross weave one? Shiney or matt? Nick
  17. Not really sure why there is an obsession with using protective film on a Caterham when TSK charge less to respray most items. £50 for each rear wing 🤔 just get them resprayed when they get pitted. The only part of the car that maybe expensive to have done is the side skins so just buy a flat sheet of 3M and fit it yourself. Nick
  18. John Give these guys a call here they seem to be selling cars and know what they are doing when it comes to Caterham 7s. Nick
  19. Noger My Blackbird has trouble getting over 60c oil temp in cold weather but fine throughout the summer and on track. I have an oil cooler and a Blackbird radiator and this keeps the engine at the correct temperature unless it is in traffic were I needed to add an additional radiator fan to keep it cool. It may be that the radiator you have is cooling the engine a bit too much, I know of another Blackbird that had a car radiator and the temperatures were very low compared to mine. The standard Blackbird runs fairly hot and the radiator fan does not cut in until 105 degrees. Mine cuts in at 88 degrees using a Subaru switch. Unless it is really cold my car normally runs at 80 degrees. Nick Nick

    Hayabusa SV

I think Jason Fletcher has built one. Nick
  21. Myles I think the Westfield Megabird dry sump tank is much larger than the Caterham Blackbird one. The Caterham one takes about 4 litres. From memory the Westfield was 6 to 8 litres? Nick
  22. Need to replace mine over the winter on my prop. Anyone got any recommendations for where to get a good quality one, and no I do not want to change it to a TRT prop There are a few US companies doing poly version here, and herebut wondered whether they would provide the same level of diff safeguarding that a rubber one does 🤔 Nick
  23. Get it repaired. I had a new screen, new home button, new battery and new charge connector fitted on my iPhone 4 for £70. Nick
