  1. Could be, have you got a pipe breathing back into the airbox? I have overfilled mine before on a trackday and drained it out and had 6 litres when really 4- 4.5 litres is enough. I usually change mine regularly and put in 4 litres and it is fine without ever needing to top up. Have not found a fool proof, reliable way to check the oil level using the tank levels. Nick
  2. I think the trouble with having a Members Only forum is that someone from the club can log on and show his non member mate(read ex club member with a grudge) what is being discussed, he then goes on Pistonheads/Facebook and slags off the club saying whatever he feels and no one other than club members can respond to. Better to keep things out in the open or if it is private use email, don't put it on a forum. All IMHO of course. Nick
  3. When did Mike stop making them then? He was up and running a couple of years ago. Would love to buy these but not sure I can justify another set of wheels.
  4. Phil You certainly did not spoil my day and I never had any issues with a green and yellow R500. I would question why you have an R500 when you are a track beginner as they will be a bit of a handful for all but the experienced, but as I said before each to his own and it is your money to do with it as you wish. Anyway you have done the right thing in getting help from Merrick and hopefully when I meet you on future track days I will be the one pulling to the right to let you pass Nick
  5. Agree it was an excellent day, superb weather and not one person stopped any of our sessions, now that has to be good. Standards of driver courtesy were on the whole excellent, can't quite understand how a CSR 260 and a couple of R500s were pedalled so slowly round the twisty bits, but as they say each to his own Hope Nathan's R400 gets sorted without a big bill. Nick
  6. Nice, wish I had the money.
  7. Friend of mine is after a single 175 55 13 CR500. Must be with good tread > 4mm and less than 2 years old. Possible pick up from Stoneleigh on Sunday. Nick
  8. Apologies, feeling grumpy again, not an excuse though.
  9. Yes Tony at TSK. Caterham are great if you want to buy a new or approved car. If you want parts then ring Redline. If you want paint or body work it's TSK. 3 people have now suggested TSK, so why are you waiting for Caterham to ring back, they don't paint the cars?
  10. Give Tony of TSK a call on 01322 441604 , he probably painted your car if it was that colour from new.
  11. It won't be 'cheap' but you do get what you pay for... it'll be worth it in the long run Not sure I would agree. The only bit of a seven that I would have done if you have unpainted carbon wings and nose is the sides and mine still look good after 15,000 miles so not even sure about that either. Wings, nose, bonnet are pretty easy to remove and cheap to get resprayed as and when you want them tarted up. IMHO of course.

  13. Cheers Ian, answers my question, I suppose getting the right size locking castors will be the difficult bit. I have seen the jack up ones but don't really need them. Nick
  14. Anyone use them to move their car around the garage, do they work OK, any tips? Set of 4 on Ebay for £60, no locking castors though/ Nick
  15. Based on Facebook now I would have thought*wink*
  16. Would be interested in any that have articles about the Caterham Blackbird, probably the early ones in the series. Nick
  17. Traders selling on Blatchat is always going to be difficult to police especially if they are involved in the club and use their own car in the sprint series etc. Simon has listed a couple of items(links below) and they are probably both ligitimate personal sales although the second one does not say they where for use on his own car although I am sure he would have been pulled up by Martin if they were not. I think the rule should be if you(the trader) advertise in Lowflying/buyadvertising space on this site then you should be able to sell used items on the For Sale section stating you are a trader. If you have new items at discounted prices then you can link to the items at reduced prices on your own sit, again clearly stating you are in the trade. 18. Christian Consider the shower cap sold. See you at the Dorset Xmas meal. Nick
  19. Christian I am interested in the shower cap if it fits an S3 with FIA single diagonal roll bar, H1 on Softbits site http://www.softbitsshop.co.uk/caterham-classifications-12-w.asp. Let me know a price if it is the correct one. Nick
  20. Christian I may be interested in your shower cap if it is still for sale? Nick
  21. Why add extra weight? Just drive round with your headlights on all the time = DRLs.
  22. Nothing specific to add to your fault finding but worth getting the Haynes Motorcycle Electrical Techbook ISBN 1859604714 . £25 from Amazon. Lots of stuff on charging circuits. Good luck. Nick
