The way I do it is:
Warm the engine:
Remove the sump plug, oil filter and bottom dry sump tank pipe
Drain out all the oil. You can remove the oil from the tank with a pump to save on mess but I do not bother.
Refit the sump plug, tank pipe and oil filter.
Refill the engine with 4 litres of Castrol synthetic superbike oil.
Disconnect the LT leads from the coils to stop the engine from firing.
Turn over the engine and watch to see the oil pumping back into the dry sump tank by leaving the top off the tank. I turn the engine over for about a minute.
Refit the LT leads.
Refit the dry sump tank top filler.
Start the engine and check for leaks, and be ready to switch off if there is a problem.
Stop the engine and wait for the oil to settle and check the oil level in the tank is just covering the baffle plate. Refit the tank top and run the engine to make sure all is well.
Job done .
I think some people also remove the spark plugs to ease turning the engine over but I have not found this necessary although the battery needs to be fully charged.
