It may be OK for a quick oil swap although I tend to agree with Ian, doing a "proper" oil change does the job of removing any swarf that may be lingering in the oil pan and checks that your blackbird gearset is not disintegrating . Using a pump to get out the vast majority of the dry sump contents might be a good idea although I just remove the bottom hose and release it into a oil bowl and leave it draining. If you have an oil cooler then this can be emptied as well. Nick Lava Orange Caterham Blackbird

My radio cassette in my trusty Ford Focus has given up the ghost so I am looking for a replacement. Would like a CD this time. Car has a double DIN space so would prefer something to fit in the space although I do have a blanking panel that I could use if need be. Anyone got an unwanted one stashed anyway they do not need? As said earlier in the thread if you run the standard non vented 3/8th disks then the Ultralites should be fine. I was aware of previous problems with customer service but this seems to be a common problem accross the Caterham supplier network with many people posting problems with companies while others have had no problem. For me Hi Spec delivered on time, at a good price and they work very well. I'm sure others have had a different experience and I hope they had any problems resolved by contacting the company direct. I have Hi Spec Ultralites fitted to my car and they seem fine to me, very good braking performance, very light and very cheap to buy. They are fitted to the £100K+ Levante so not sure why they get slagged so much Nick Lava Orange Caterham Blackbird

As part of my winter plans I intend to replace my dedion tube with the latest spec one and get my diff overhauled. My question is, I have a single garage about 8ft wide, can I get the tube out while it is on axle stands in the centre of the garage or do I need room to pull it out on one side? Tony Measure the inner length in millimetres, go through the QH catalogue looking for cables the same length noting the models and go to a motorfactors and get them the pull them off the self to see if they would fit. Nick Lava Orange Caterham Blackbird

Tony I had a problem finding a clutch cable for mine and did some research online to find a cable the right length with the right outer casing. I looked on ebay and here to find one. I have now found one that I can modify to fit, althought it would be good to get one that had a perfect inner and outer. Hope this helps. Nick Lava Orange Caterham Blackbird

Probably confusing as I assume the temporary red plastic dust covers were not on both sides. As Tweeky says remove it and attach to the through body connector. Make sure that you tighten both sides before putting any fliud in the system. Nick Lava Orange Caterham Blackbird

Drove up to Isle of Skye in our works van from Hanmpshire a few weeks ago to do some radar analysis and got the ferry accross to Harris and then drove to Stornaway.
