  1. Have you tried wiping the carbon with 3 in 1 oil or WD40. just a little on a clothe goes a long way. It brings my carbon up nice and black with a good lustre. Nick
  2. Ok, it looked like a Hayabusa to me However the way he has managed to squeeeze the throttle bodies under the bonnet seems a good idea although I would be interested to know how it would affect engine power. Nick
  3. Noger's Hayabusa install And another Looks like it might be an SV 🤔 Nick
  4. I don't think it has got anything to do with it being an SV. The company that produces them in Canada use a special inlet manaifold that the throttle bodies attach to that are bent in such a way that the whole lot fits under the bonnet. I think there is a chap on Pistonheads, Noger who has an S3 with a Hayabusa that has nothing sticking out the top. I think he uses a similar arrangement. Nick
  5. Spotted it yesterday on the M25 being driven very sedately . God I want one 🥰 Now where did I put that lottery ticket Nick
  6. I have some Continental Conti Sport 2 SSR runflat tyres 225 45 17 that are currently on some wheels I have just bought as a set of winter wheels for my Bemmer. They all have 5mm or a little over of tread left however one has a nail in the tyre that possibly could be repaired They are £126 new on special offer from Blackcircles and there are a couple of used ones on Ebay at around £55 each. How about £25 each for the 3 good ones and I will throw the other one in for free if you buy all 3. They are dated 2010/11. Pictures here and here Nick
  7. Buy the flexible brake lines from Caterham and throw away the rigid copper pipes that way removing the brake calipers is always easy. Nick
  8. I had my dedion checked on a flat table at Arch and it was bent so replaced it with a new one. The difference in the new dedion tube weight the the old one is quite marked and an old tube was only 12 gauge compared to the new 10 gauge one so the strength of the new one must be much greater. Nick
  9. Rob They are very expensive comapred to the Nangang ones so not surprised they are good. I have heard that the cheap ones are good as well. Nick
  10. I was looking at winter tyres on steel wheels at Mytyres and Nankang came up as reasonably priced at £545 for a set of 4 17"wheels for my BMW. I found this review here Nick
  11. Email sent to you Dave. Provisionally sold to Dave. Nick

  13. work colleague is selling his Porsche and it seems quite reasonable for a 2008 car. Details below: The car is in excellent condition, two stone chips on the bonnet are all I can find. It has covered 43K, recently had it 40K service at Porsche Centre Bournemouth. It also has 10 months remaining on Porsche extended warranty (1st May 2012). Optional extra's include (all Porsche factory fitted). 19" Carrera alloys (4 new tyres) Integrated SatNav Electric memory seats Cruise control Porsche Tracker Embosed head rests. Rain sensors Parking sensors Auto dimming mirrors Multi-functional steering wheel homelink (automatically opens garage doors) Tyre presure monitors Mot until March 2012, TAX until April 2012 I can send photos if you blatmail me. He wants £42K o.n.o. Nick
  14. I know they seem to get bad press on here but look at HiSpec. They are fitted to the Levante, Ultima and many other cars and are reasonably priced. I have them fitted to my car and they work fine. Nick
  15. I would have thought having some sort of adjustability with the damping for fast road/track and touring would be good compared to the fixed Bilsteins 🤔, but I suspect that the touring set up i.e. fully wound off, would be too track focused and the fully wound on setting just too extreme for use on either road or track. Would really be intersted to know because I feel my car is too stiffly damped, even though the springs rates are quite low, although it is quite light being a BEC. Nick
  16. I don't like them. They look tacky IMHO. Some blue neon puddle lights under the mirrors next 🤔
  17. Never trod on my seats either, why would you need to hood off - Put left foot into the footwell, grab the roll bar, lift yourself up and swing in right leg, lower yourself down. Geting out is just the reverse. Hood on - Left foot in to footwell, head over to the passenger side, right leg in. Nick
  18. I would'nt bother as TSK will respray bits relatively cheaply if the chips get bad. £700 buys you quite a bit of respraying. Nick
  19. I have been trying to remove my prop from my Blackbird this weekend and am not having much success Without going into a rant about being able to put men on the moon etc. I am in need of some tools that I think are the only way I am going to get this thing apart. To remove the prop I have to remove a centre bearing that needs spliting from the prop. If you look here at pictures 8 and 9 this is the type of bearing I need to split and it has a 17mm bolt that is difficult to remove(understatement). Has anyone got an old 17mm combination spanner or 11/16" one they do not need any more as I need to grind it down on the ring end so it is thinner to slide between the UJ knuckle and the bolt head? I also need to borrow a decent size set of stillsons that I can grip the prop with? If not I will go and buy some but thought I would ask before doing so. Nick
  20. Mike Thanks for that. I have blatmailed you after emailing Geoff P regarding Geoff's old prop coupling. Nick
  21. Well its the only major bit of my car that I have not had apart yet Had a vibration for a few weeks and lifted the car up a couple of weekends ago and tightened up the bolts that join it to the engine as they were loose, I did think at the time that it was strange Any way still had a vibration on last weeks Kent blat and took another look today and the flange linking the prop to the rubber donut has worn two of its holes oval and two of the bolts were loose again, with one nut half the width it should be 😳. I thought there might be a problem with one of the two UJs or a balnce issue, Last week I rang Bailey Morris and agreed that I would remove the prop this weekend and take it to them for a look but I had not figured it is not that easy I have undone all the bolts, diff end , engine end and the centre bearing thingy but the diff end flange seems too big to pull out through the engine side 🤔 If it has to come out the other way then the centre bearing needs to be removed from the prop, any ideas how to do this 🤔 Does it just knock off 🤔 I suppose once I get the centre bearing off I will need to either need to remove the diff & dedion 🤔 or just lower the diff 🤔 Anyone had experience of this 🤔 What a kin palaver 🙆🏻 BTW - I have no reverse gearbox, I use an electric reverse. Any help please
