Steve I might be able to help you out. Not sure what is left but will check over the weekend. Nick Mellow Yellow Vauxhall - I don't think so!!! 😬 😬
  8. Thanks marc I am normally somewhere between Sussex and Bristol but a mate is heading up to Norwich sometime so will be in touch. Nick Mellow Yellow Vauxhall - I don't think so!!! 😬 😬
  9. Am looking for a nose cone, any condition, to use over the winter to test out a modification. Nick Mellow Yellow Vauxhall - I don't think so!!! 😬 😬
  10. Stuart Had a similar problem with a friends Vx powered 7, the coolant system was pressurizing with a build up of air at the top of the rad. We got a restrictor from Caterham that fits in the small hose to the top of the expansion tank. It stops the coolant from airating in the expansion tank. Haven't had a problem since. It could be your head gasket but I would explore the cheaper/easier changes first. Nick Mellow Yellow Vauxhall - I don't think so!!! 😬 😬
  11. Have got carbon fibre front wings that have had a coat of acrylic lacquer. This is now flaking off and looks crap to say the least. Can anyone suggest a way of removing the lacquer without damaging the wings. Thanks Nick
  12. Speak to Arch direct. Got one from them without the bulkhead or any holes. Nick Mellow Yellow Vauxhall - I don't think so!!! 😬 😬
  13. After a complete engine rebuild over the winter in a friends car we used a running in oil for about 50 miles then changed to a basic mineral oil from Halfrauds. This was used for about 1000 miles keeping the revs below 4000 ish. After that the oil was changed to what we will use from now on. Don't use synthetic to start with as it doesn't let things bed in properly. Nick Mellow Yellow Vauxhall - I don't think so!!! 😬 😬
  14. Try speaking to Phil Stewart at Road & Race Transmissions on 01959 525105. He often has them or knows of any going. Mellow Yellow Vauxhall - I don't think so!!! 😬 😬
  15. The fog lights are only wired up to the dip beam circuit so when you switch to main beam the fog light goes out. Surely if it is clear enough to switch to main beam then you don't need the fog light on Mellow Yellow Vauxhall - I don't think so!!! 😬 😬
  16. Stephane "Tuned with a synchronometer" This means you have to balance the air flow into each cylinder by adjusting the buterfly in the throttle body. You need the same amount of air entering each cylinder for it to be balanced. Check out Demon Tweeks, they sell them. Also from what I remember the map supplied with the 208 kit does not include a cold start programme. This may have changed but was the case a few years ago. Nick Mellow Yellow Vauxhall - I don't think so!!! 😬 😬
  17. Chas Try looking on www.findit.co.uk and www.racecar.co.uk Have seen quite a few for sale recently Nick Mellow Yellow Vauxhall - I don't think so!!! 😬 😬
  18. Stephane We have a pipe connected to the aluminium submarine pipe in the bottom hose from the radiator. We had thought about blanking it off but were told that it upsets the coolant flow/temperature across the cylinder head. Nick Mellow Yellow Vauxhall - I don't think so!!! 😬 😬
  19. Stephane We had a new coolant take off pipe machined up to replace the cast one. It is only 50mm long and takes 15mm I/D hose so should give you the clearance you require. Sorry I haven't got a picture but will e-mail you a drawing. Nick Mellow Yellow Vauxhall - I don't think so!!! 😬 😬

Glyn Sorry to hijack this thread but I have a complete set of head internals going spare. They were only removed to upgrade the head. Everything is there and has only done 25000 miles. Also available is a set of standard rods/pistons from the same engine. Regards Nick Mellow Yellow Vauxhall - I don't think so!!! 😬 😬 Edited by - Nick Pargiter on 9 Sep 2003 14:49:20
