  1. It wasn't a problem in the end but thought you'd appreciate the feedback. Great product, as I say. Photos below if it helps. The extra washer wasn't to stop it moving through the panel as such, but rather back and forth a little in the circular hole in the skin. I'm pretty sure the collar was locked in but I'll check again tonight, good idea. The wiring is definitely tight in there and makes working in the space harder than anticipated. You'll see a connector attached tightly to the underside of the boot floor too.
  2. Mine arrived today and I've just finished fitting them to a 2022 420r. Firstly, great service and packaging, really well done! Secondly, I echo everything MRP said in their 18 July post - I had to do the same and cut my hands to bits. I need to reglue the carpet down too. All fine but made a short job a lot longer...* A nice plug and play task but one I needed to take my time on. Really pleased with the end result. Note, for those fitting these to LED's where the joining parts go through the rear arches, you might need to utilise the green rubber washer on the existing union and use it on the new union, such that it has two rubber washers. For some reason the new single green washer the Caterleds came with would've meant the union moved around a bit in the arch skin. With two washers that's resolved. *also would've helped if I'd scrolled down the instructions to the 'LED' part, rather than read the top part. I have rear LED lights so fitting is completely different 🤦‍♂️
  3. As per title, isn't mine but seems fairly cheap. http://www.puntosports.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=20325 Wants £270 for it for "a quick sale" apparently. If it's not sold I guess he may well take less. James
  4. I understand that it seems a waste of money, and were it my car I wouldn't bother. However, plenty of people have pointed this out to him and he is still certain he will go ahead. Everybody has their opinion though I guess. Thanks for the replies, I'll get in touch with these people. James
  5. Very off topic here, and nothing to do with Caterham but.... Despite it being pointed out several times that it is only a Fiat Punto 1.2, and indeed only 2 years old, a friend is in the process of doing silly things to his engine and as in the process of has been through two standard diffs. I'm informed it's a common problem with this mark of punto in the 1.2 engine series I read a lot about Dave Andrews working on Caterhams, I wondered if he'd do something like this. I understand the money isn't going to be cheap, but then apparently money isn't an issue. In the process he'd like the flywheel lightening as well. If Mr A can't do it, does anyone know of a company, *reliable company, that will do it? He has spoken to Quaife and they have quoted a long waiting time, forgetting the sort of price you can imagine they want. If anyone can help out that would be superb, he's really struggling to find somewhere. Thanks James
  6. what size are they and are they clean? 😬
  7. What have you got for sale that is purple? James
  8. I have a good friend who is looking for stockists of these ecus, mappable but somewhere he can just buy one to get mapped elsewhere. Has anyone any experience of these? It's for a 172 cup on throttle bodies, I believe being done up to race spec. Thanks James
  9. Possibly. I am in the Tring area at the moment, and my father lives in Tiptree, Essex.
  10. Angus, That is really kind of you, most appreciated. I'd actually emailed you before you posted on here 😬 (Just been having a nose through your website, not seen that before, looks superb ) Edited by - James@Tiptree on 2 Nov 2004 12:39:32
  11. lol, you seem to answer all my questions! thanks, will definately have a look. good stuff.
  12. I am looking around for a half decent bullet camera as a present for someone , needs to be able to be fixed at some point to an FIA roll bar and be fairly user friendly. Can those who are in the know advise me please, I haven't the first clue where to begin looking or what I am looking for. Thanks James
  13. Frankie, don't know if this helps but could confirm something? http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
  14. Is it a sedicivalvole engine you're putting in? People with sedici engines tend to opt for the coupe 16vt lump if they're upgrading to a turbo. Little point messing about with the sedica lump, easier to start with something that was made for a turbo. Edited by - James@Tiptree on 12 May 2004 18:50:33
